Looking at it from one perspective, we do live in a simulation:
Light never directly reaches our brains. Instead, our eyes get hit with light, that is then transmitted as signals to the brain, the brain then translates and simulates to us, whatever we perceive as reality.
TL:DR - Our brains just translates light and vibrations into vision and sound, despite being encased in total darkness.

The computational power required to simulate the known universe would have to be exponentially larger than the universe. It's just easier if things were real, which is what everything points to anyways. If it were a simulation it would have a creator and a purpose, something everyone thinks is icky nowadays.
Why would a simulation have so many weird things built in? Why would a simulation even bother with microscopic anything, like video games do? Unnecessary complexity hints at reality being, you know, real.
