Yea Forums was never good, but on average the threads were better. More laughs, less political bullshit, somewhat less porn. All the good memes came from here and everyone wanted to get in on the ground floor of one. Milhouse is still not a meme, though.

Some part were actually worse. We used to have namefags that thought they were special. It was very Reddit of them.

CP was way more common. It was deterred from within by spamming other shit. Spiderman threads, kill it with Gore, sage in all fields etc...

The recent Bob Buckhorn Twitter hack was the closest thing to old Yea Forums I've seen on here in a while.

Back in 2005 you can bet your ass there was porn galore. However it was mostly OC because we didn't have Instagram sluts and kik. Facebook fap kinda spawned off the insta thing and Yea Forums had some gay shit on it but there was never explicitly gay, trap, and shota threads on here cause we berated and saged the shit out of them. Most of the gay shit was stuff like the image I posted. There were location threads but we never asked for 'kiks' or intas back then. We posted what we could get away with here and made gmasks for fun. There was always something new to see and always some really good storied on here. Yea Forums now feels like reddit but scummy and repetitious. Also, most political threads ended up with banned users that were explicitly told to post on /pol/ or fuck off. We made friends through memes and rolling for numbers only meant something if it was a unique prize board. Getting banned back then was a lot harder and if you did get banned the mods laughed at you and banned you for stupid reasons. Even if you showed up on a proxy, the mods would laugh at the fact that you were back on the board and all was good. We made fun of things all the time and we never really cared about other people. Memes were easy to be had back then and had some depth because they were usually because of someone's fuck up. Not something we could generate with a website. The feeling of being on Yea Forums back then was definitely "Oh what crazy funny shit am I going to be a part of today". It was most definitely not "what kind of shota, loli, trap, fb, ig, wwyd, cuck, kik, incest, Rollin for nothing, political, rekt thread am I going to ignore today".

imo Yea Forums isnt dead, it has always evolved, but so far all the influence that makes Yea Forums evolve (OC, thread patterning, mods doing their jobs) has frozen - even [s4s] and /x/ have greater variation and discussion.

The good ol days. Like 2009 when shit seemed to be hitting the fan every other week. God damn. I never really participated in the antics, just watched as Hell broke loose on the mortal and tame world that the internet use to be.

I remember the first time my buddy showed me Yea Forums. He was like "dude I'm gonna show this site thats got crazy shit on it. Some of it you're not going to want to see, just scroll past it real quick and eventually you'll see something cool." Within 15 seconds I see some grown black man jizzing on some 6 year old girl and we're both just staring at the screen. Like watching people scream from a flaming car wreck. You don't want to see, but you can't look away. After about 10 seconds of "holy shit this is real shit" scrolled down to next post which was a "brain-gasm" post. Squat down breathe in and out as hard as you can for 60 seconds, stand up and blow on your thumb... "this sounds retarded" i though. My friend tried it and instantly fell to the ground and got up laughing like "wtf just happened lololol"...

I then explained brain-gasms to some kids at school and they tried it during gym class. One kid passed out, fell backwards and cracked his head on the bleachers and everyone else ran away while the other kid was bleeding from his head lmao he's fine now but he was actually fucked up.
