the thing though, is that mammals will be offended and personally hurt if you hurt them. it's not exactly the same as it is to us, because an animal doesn't have the same CONSIDERATION as we do. when we are injured or someone damages us, we think ahead intelligently about how this might impact our future. animals aren't actually that insightful. if you consider that, then when you hurt them, you are hurting their feelings. torture them enough and they'll just decide they really, really don't like you. it won't mean the same thing as say, cutting off a human's dick. do that to a dog and they'll be in pain but it won't mean at all the same thing to them. it's like punching a baby who thought were its friend.
