Earning money online is probably the hardest way to get cash ever since you are competing with literally the entire third world. I once posted a job on upwork and a literal TON of people started underbidding each other to do some simple excel work. For a day's effort, I paid $5. You'd be better off collecting bottles and cans, I think. Not only that, but there are a ton of timewasters and memes out there and everyone wants to sell you a course: coding bootcamps, affiliate selling, etc. and it's easy to go down the rabbit hole.

The only way to make anything decent is to have specialized skills and market yourself aggressively. But this takes time.

Focus on your school first, then do this later if you really want.

My wife has sunk over a year of full-time effort into starting an online business and only now is she seeing cash coming in.

I mean, if you still want to do something, you can get on upwork and see what the top requests are and market yourself to do that, but that's not going to be instant and you may not get anything at all.

I've heard you can teach english online too, but I'm not sure how effective it is.
