I have two; one is my regular concealed and my other is my home defense. They always have one in the chamber and fuck safeties they just get you killed. I wish open carry was legal where I live.

I own close to 30 various firearms, I would have to get them all out and count.
Dont have my concealed carry, can't get it for 3 more years cause I got busted with weed in college. My parents never locled up their guns because they taught my sister and I gun safety at a very young age (shot my first rifle at 4, handgun at 5) and I intend to do the same to my kids

Own 4 guns myself, keep the Glock in a bedside safe that uses a finger print reader to unlock. The rest are under my bed until I have kids and I'll get a big safe for the rifles and shotgun.

Why not do it the other way around? Chambered round with safety on? It takes much longer to chamber the round in an emergency than it does to flip the safety off

It's also a statement of fact. If you can't trust the firearm to work correctly, then there is no reason to own it. This includes firing when you pull the trigger, not firing when you don't pull the trigger, and the safety functioning properly. So as I said, if you have nothing it the chamber, it's not loaded.

I have no kids just me; also my gun will never be out unless I'm moving it from my safe to my work bag or holster; if its any other reason its because I'm at the range or going to kill someone. You won't drop it because its a loaded gun; I white knuckle that thing or always maintain both points of contact. If I fall its in my holster so nothing will touch the trigger. Just be safe and aware at all times.

I meant the literal safety lever; the only reason I would by a gun with a safety is because the state I'm in requires me to do so but not in Florida

I agree that it's statement of fact, but that logic doesn't exactly resonate with people immediately. I would never hand someone a gun without one in the chamber, yet still has a full magazine and say "it's not loaded". Rule 1 of firearms is always treat as if it's loaded.
