And even if they were relatively close to us (let's be generous and assume 10000 light-years away) the odds of them being technologically advanced enough and sending signals that we can even detect in the 60 year or so window that we have been looking is too improbable to rule out that since we haven't seen them they don't exist. I don't believe they have visited ever though because the amount of shaky and too blurry to make out video\photo hasn't gone up proportionally to the fact that nearly everyone on Earth has a portable camera (smartphone) but the amount of pictures hasn't gone up that much compared to the fact that only people with cameras back then had dedicated cameras. The amount of devices that can prove they exist has gone up exponentially but there's still very sparse photos. Also every sighting story that has enough physical evidence to go with it is proven to be something else. I really want aliens to visit so we can boost our technology and I really want to believe they have visited, but I have yet to run into anything that is convincing enough when held under high scrutinization.

I think that's backwards. Consciousness is energy. The type of energy that it is, is not something inherent in this universe. As to say, it is not something that was created from the big bang. Its an energy that spans time and dimension. I dont think that its something that can be plugged into a quantum mechanism equation but can interact with quantum mechanics.
