Sometimes people (read: women) who are mugged or burgled end up with similar effects that you quoted. Even if rape was treated the same way I don’t think people would get over it as easily as you think user. Especially because of what rape actually is, i don’t think the treatment of the victims will change their psyche much if at all

But again there are things around the whole pregnancy stuff. Like the majority of people wouldn’t really say anything against an abortion of a rape baby (except some super super religious people). I don’t think adoption would be as good a choice because you would still go through the pregnancy.

And again, it’s worse in different ways. Physically ending up with an unwanted pregnancy is infinitely worse than what a man would end up with. Agreed. But the problems with rape aren’t skin deep and especially with men you could argue it’s much worse psychologically because of how women tend to support each other outwardly but men don’t really show support in the same way.

I think it's a special kind of crime, because it fucks with someone mentally and emotionally. Sex is the most intimate and passionate act you can share with someone, and when the crime is violently forcing one to have it, it becomes different than simply taking material items by force or just dealing physical damage. And if you look at Japan you'll notice they have virtually no crime,including rape because there is a strong social culture to not be a rapist, not to not be the one rapes. While I agree they should not be treated differently because of it (which I think most people do, maybe people talk behind their back) but I think it's a different issue than say robbery due to the nature of the crime
