there is this one really old ps2 game that i had played as a kid, i have been searching for information for years now but i still couldnt find it, watched hour long videos about ps2 games n shit. just hoping someone might recall that game. sooo what i remember is the game started somewhat in a character selection, where they characters where in a circle, the ones you had unlocked were playable other ones where locked, i only recall one character which was some sort of a guy with a huge blade carrying it on his shoulder (kinda like cloud's buster sword), the other thing that i remember quiet well are these 5 levels: - some sort of swamp where you first kill all the smaller enemys, last till the end and fight the boss (levels where designed mostly the same, hack and slash smaller enemys and at the end a bossfigth) - second, a level kinda in a place with traditonel chapanese houses, where the boss was a big ass golden gryphon, whom you attacked the legs and killed it - third was this pyramid thingie where you got trapped inside and had to fight your way out -the fourth one was this open field, in some kind of war between countries or something like that - the last level i remember was an open filed (in the sky maybe with a platform) where the boss was some sort of dragon
unfortunately thats all i remmeber, hope someone might recall some shit, i dont know if its gonna help but that game was not an original cd, it was burned on a dvd by someone. all clues appreciated
unfortunately not, was definitely not a side scroller, it was open world you could move wherever you wanted

There´s just 3 games on top of my hat I played back in that day with a guy and a huge-ass sword
Siegfried with Bauernwehr, but that´s Soul Calibur (fighting game)
then there´s one of the main protagonists in Saga Frontier 2 who forged himself such a blade.
lastly, there´s cloud himself in Ehrgeiz, which is just another fighting game.
Sorry, this is too vague to really get it. do you remember anything else?
Kayden Bennett
so it was not a game that had sort of guns like pistols, only swords katanas and so on, the battle system was not turn based like in final fantasy, you face the boss hit him a few times run
Jonathan Sanders
chibi knight? probably not tho
Daniel Rivera
Gauntlet dark legacy??
Jose Moore
it was more on the realistic side than cartoonie
Ryder Sanders
good to know, Dark Chronicle was my next guess. that´s gone than. >cartoonie looking
Ethan Watson
i think that it was a more advanced game than Gauntlet dark legacy, graphics and stuff
Zachary Sullivan
the best thing is, i started searching for this game years ago, however didnt find anything yet, thats what bothers me the most :P
Samuel Sullivan
Have a bump to help you in your search.
Angel Morris
also it is worth to mention, that the bosses where some kind of creatures and monsters and not human
Nathaniel Wilson
What´s offputting the most is the entire game itself. >open world >trad. japanese level >pyramid level with griffin >swamp level >dragon >hit and run until you killed enough small enemies >big ass sword, no guns. (sword-n-sorcery perhaps) >war situation >circular char selection
this will keep me awake now for at least 2 days...
depends on what you mean as open world, it was no side scroller but full 3 dimensional, there were levels that were set in different places in those lelvels you could move as youd like but not bounce bewteen places, so kinda "open world" i guess
Kevin Roberts
Bumping
Nicholas Johnson
looked through th elist didnt find anything, i am not quiet sure but i think you were able to play ps1 games on th eps2 aswell, so it could be also a ps1 game
Hunter Edwards
I´m out. This level selection is killing me. If it wasn´t for those trad. japanese houses I thought maybe it was one of the D&D Dark Alliance or Champions of Norrath hack-n-slays
last guess. it´s not an original title, but maybe a remake or "upgrade" of an earlier title. if so, the library just got a couple thousand games bigger. >Just forget the game.
You were capable of living without it for the last couple of years, I guess you will survive for another 30 or 40 years without it.
Mason Reyes
so this was somewhat the layout of that particular lvl. dont ask me how i remember this shit but not the god dman name
imma try to draw that boss fight with that dragon too
Luke Cox
no guns. swords only.
Brody Scott
Is this one of those creepypasta situations? If so, I feel like it's taking a while for it to actually sound creepy
Chase Hughes
it should be noted that in the dragon level, it was an animation/video sequence where your character moved from the gate to the platform after that the battle began
i also remember that the bosses where mostly fought in the group of heroes, not quiet sure how many but the dragon lvl was different, there could only be one character on the platform, there needed to fight alone
Andrew Scott
Live-a-live?
Landon Russell
the swamp lvl also had this place that burned itself into my memory, it was this trigger for an event
the worst part is i enjoyed the game back then, even so much that some parts like the levels mentioned earlier burnt itself in my mind, i somehow manage to recall loot places but not a videgame name -.-
nigger isn't this the layout for the naked snake/ocelot fight in MGS 3???
Robert Smith
False memory implant. You were somehow a link in a series of events that were part of something serious. Your memory had to be changed for your own good. Go about your life now.
Daniel Murphy
Was it about ninjas?
Mason Howard
probably never gonna find out about it, maybe someday you all find a thread like "damn guys i finally found the game i played in my childhood" but until that day i gotta keep searching i guess peace out
David Cooper
look i am not quiet sure about that one, but somehow my mind keeps telling me that in the cutscene to the level with the dragon there were ninjas spying on you in the trees, but im not 100% sure on that one
Hunter Thompson
Ah sorry you mentioned more than one playable character. The one I had in mind is with just one
William Rivera
crazy you remember so much about it, I have shit like I barely remember and it drives me crazy but you seem to be in a tormented state where you vividly remember the shit but cant find the name
Dylan Walker
What also crosed my mind, but again not 100% sure it belongs together, is a level in some kind of a desert where there were some kind of "rolling stones", like big stone boulders
Christian King
It takes someone too long to find the stuff that you start living with the fact that you probably never gonna find it
Jonathan Smith
You said it was a burned CD, you totally sure it was a PS2 game and not a PS1 game (backwards compatibility) ?
Easton Harris
thats what i dont know for certain, it could be both, a ps1 or a ps2 game. for now imma go to sleep right now it 3 am here
