FYI the captchas only increase in number as a direct response to an influx of posting from your IP, on the specific board in question.
Sometimes happens to me when I post a lot on /k/, it goes from 4 to 6 to 8 pictures. Stop posting for a day and it's back down to 4. Go to another board and post immediately and it's back at 4 also.
