The question is though, will your brain still be functioning enough to experience the throes of death as your body tries to save itself from impending doom? You may be paralyzed, having agonal breathing, snorting away for 10 minutes, while parts of your brain are undergoing death and other parts are operating normally. You'd be locked in a painful shell of a body and death will seem like an eternity.

I have killed many hogs in hog traps with a .22. Hogs from 25lbs to 300lbs. I make head shots up close thro the wire panels of the trap. .22 kills them, but they squirm (and sometimes squeal too) twice as long as they do when a 9mm or .45 is used to pop them in the head. That's reality, user. I've seen it. I've pulled those triggers. You will die, but it just wont be as quick as you want. You'll be squirming around on the ground, maybe in pain with your brain malfunctioning, maybe froze up with your brain malfunctioning. All I know is the heart beats longer when I shoot those hogs with a .22 than it does with a .45, the .44 really knocks them down and there is so much more blood pouring from not just the bullet holes but also out the nostrils, ears, and mouth. With the .22 they bleed less, slower, and from less places. Having done what I done and seen what I seen...I would never use a .22 anything for suicide, no fuckin way. 9mm, .45, .38, 44, .380...I'd trust them all but would not recommend FMJ rounds, even though any FMJ round from those guns is better than every .22 round in existence. I would recommend a hollow point or soft point so the kinetic energy is quickly dispersed into your brain thereby destroying more brain tissue instantly. As far as where to put the barrel...I guess wherever it's gonna reach the brain in the shortest distance hitting the largest area, so if you're white put the barrel to your forehead a little above your eyes and shoot at an angle so it comes out the back of your head. If you're black you should probably put the barrel to the side of the head kinda behind the ear I guess.

Wrong .22 cal is perfect bounces around in skull and scrambles brain. Bigger caliber there’s a good chance of a clean through shot and then some doctor will keep you alive, most likely as a vegetable. Unless you can shoot yourself in the brain stem.
