Trips has a really mixed history. On one hand he did get fucked by Vince as the only guy he could punish for the curtain call and he was a solid upper card guy in the attitude era. Its just that the original burial made hi overcompensate and try and bend the entire company to make him a Star as big as the tat won KOTR in his place in Stone Cold. Arguably the boom period ended because of pandering to and trying to make him as big a star and the reign of terror turned fans off while killing attempts and building new stars. NXT should be a much bigger deal but because Vince instinctively buries people now the majority of them will never matter no matter how good they are in developmental
