Why has the music in WWE become so boring? Every wrestler's theme is so painfully uninspired and uninteresting. They have become nothing more than short loops with a single recognizable riff and simplistic over-produced instrumentals.
On top of that, most PPV event themes are forgettable and generally by no name garbage that nobody cares about nor will care about within a minute of hearing their song.
What caused this trend? Is it an intentional strategy?

Because Jim Johnston left and they don't want to pay real musicians so CFO$ became the WWE's favorite band
Not especially since WWE actively employ these hacks. They are clearly happy with the job they are doing and want them to produce more trash. Do they think that the shit they churn out is actually good? They are also clearly not given any kind of actual criticism considering the trend has been going on for years now.

9 out of 10 jim johnson themes were generic trash. even the big stars had garbage music. anyone remember when the rock had a slightly sped up version of the brood's theme?

From what I’ve heard it sounds like they just pump out songs and then WWE decides who gets them. According to Roode, his theme was originally supposed to be for Nakamura.

yes. this way they own the songs forever so they won't dub them over in 10 years or pay royalties to anyone. in few years every entrance of CM Punk with Cult of Personality will be dubbed over just like most of the WCW footage.
I'm not saying they are responsible for every song, they are just a relevant image to attach my dude. Was asking about WWE music as a whole. From wrestler themes to PPV music.

Nak's and Dream's are solid, Roode's is nice but painfully repetitive, I could honestly leave the rest. AJ's is one of his worst themes that he's had which is a bit of a shame.
Miz, Dolph and Corbin's themes are the most memorable on the roster today

The only themes of theres I like is Balors, Corbins and maybe Shinsuke's. The rest are absolute crap with KOs one being among the worst.

That's pretty obvious. Almost everyone male or female just come out to some generic trash that could literally fit anyone. Very rarely do you get someone like Styles with music that is clearly meant for him.

The entrance music serves as a score for the wrestlers entrance rather than a fully realized song. You’re not actually supposed to be listening to it unironically. You don’t unironically listen to wrestling music do you?
The problem is that the score is bad. Just because it's a wrestler's entrance theme does not mean it has to be bland. It should be the opposite.
