Can I still be a pro wrester if I am 32 years old and have pic related body type? I'm 6'1 btw and I can move well for my size.

DDP started at 35.

No cause you probably have a tenth of the charisma and talent of Dusty

If I were you, I'd probably try to improve on the body type a bit before trying to learn how to work a punch

This. Lose some fucking weight, get some clues and them try it.

That's a work, it was part of his WCW people's champ face persona. He was a manager long before that.

Nope

>He was a manager
Yes, but he legitimately started training to wrestle for the first time in the WCW Power Plant.

I'm actually pretty charismatic and used to do theater in high school and college. I'm a great talker.

Then you wouldn't be on /asp making these threads.

No your not. Dusty is one of the all time greatest wrestlers ever ever. You aren't even close to his level

Unless you were extensively involved in athletic activities in your teens you are going to get killed. For the average person who looks like that at 32 "i can move well for my size" means you can climb three flights of stairs at a brisk pace and not be sweating.

No I'm not, Dusty is my idol. But I still wonder if there's a place for me in the Fed. I know Vince hates fat guys, but we're a key part of wrestling imo.

yeah, but in the indies of indies. If you meme your way into indie stardom, then you will get a shot at known indies, but mostly you'll be wrestling in places like anarchy wrestling in cornelia ga. (AJ Styles homed there for a while before TNA)

*t indiest of indies booker. Basically a "payed" hobby and people might (will) take liberties with you to get over. Power lift for strength, and be ready to shoot on people that try it.

I can hit real hard. I’m a drinker and have been in (and won) a lot of bar fights against Chads. But you’re right probably and I appreciate the straight talk. Problem is I live in NYC.

plenty of indie indies there. that's the northern territory area bro, wrestling runs extremely deep on the east coast.

How about the Midwest? I don't expect you to know about every little outlaw glory hole, but what is the scene like?

Wrestler here.

Yes you can but there are things you should know:

-You will not make any money. Nothing, not a damn thing. Anyone who can tell you that you can make money on the indies is lying. You'll be lucky to get a hotdog. All the money is in WWE and at your age and body type, you can kiss that dream goodbye.

-Prepare to get hurt. And I mean really really hurt. This is a painful hobby.

Get real training from a reputable school. They will look at you as a sucker and try and soak up as much money as they can from you. Learn the bare basics such as taking a bump and not killing your opponent. Then try and get as much bookings as you can. "Learning" psychology from a trainer is bullshit, the only way to learn it is by going out there and having matches in front of crowds.

There are tons of feds all over the country. East coast has a lot more of the bigger indies running then anywhere else

You cant make the Fed but you can fart around on your local bingo hall circuit

Trips of truth

There's a rookie in Gatoh Move over in Japan who started at 44. Never too late it seems.

While I can't speak about any particular promotion, we just keep a talent list, I don't really care who you work for, you're gonna find small groups putting on shows everywhere. Short google for midwest wrestling produced more than a handful of groups.

If you're looking to have some fun, you can get by staying where you are as long as you are willing to drive a few states over regularly. If you are serious about being professional, you gotta do the same thing but honestly live in florida, atl, nyc, etc. You need to figure out how to crunch your learning curve on everything, don't complain about the lack of time, use the time you have to improve as fast as you can, and work a really safe style to avoid getting injured for 50 bucks.

Honestly give mick foley's first book a read. the early chapters really give you an idea of what it's like.

Can you cut a promo?

Batista was also like 33-34.
If you have a decent personality and can wrestle op, you have a chance.
