Yuji Sakai was always an important proponet of post modernism, yet his ideology of spatial vs temporal canvases leaves much to be desired. In a sense, it was too obvious, too programmatic, too lacking in dignity, and otherwise redundant- i.e., it fails to deal with what it purports to master. The idea is a little to static- paratactic and eletronic- lacking in the suavity, the sense of movement, the nature of resolution on a higher plane that would alone make it meaningful. There is a degree to which, as with all of Yuji's ideas the cart has been put before the horse- things have been forced into contrariness or dialectic, into an either/ or situation in order to have an argument, to substantiate a claim, when the notion of the line in art, of draughtsmanship, as it applies to fine art, must nevertheless convey spatial tone or temporal understanding. While both of these are resolvable on a higher plane- as long as one has in mind the fact that human beings are redundant and their speculations about art are mere excersices in nausea, particularly when human beings desire clear cut solutions to resolve problems- the main point ot the Yujian analysis, however, is the notion of consciousness: the understanding that one wishes to communicate something that, in turn, presupposes an idea that one wishes to communicate and an audience to whom one wishes to communicate.

Dont get it wrong, I understood every word you used and even the epochs used as stand-ins for qualifiers, a tool post modernists deliberately used to obfuscate and reject a sense of knowable or agreeable grounds for thought. As such, I am qualified enough to say that you didnt state or reference any tactile idea - what is being conveyed is your ability to use ideas, not your ability to create them in any authentic or meaningful way.
