On one hand I like firearms because they helped Europeans conquer and repel less-advanced savages but on the other I dislike them because a literal obese retard can easily kill someone with a gun. Back during the bronze age you had to have excellent agility and strength in order to effectively wield a sword or a spear and come out of battle unscathed, but now people who are weak can kill someone from a mile away with little effort. Guns are neat and important but they have somewhat of an anti-evolutionary aspect to them. Same thing in regards to nuclear weapons.

Bows are slightly different than guns. One needs to be relatively fit and muscular in order to draw a bow and they need proper technique in order for the arrow to actually hit the mark. Arrows have less penetration capability than bullets as well and the damage is more easily repairable. Don't have as much range as firearms either.

It is a good point that using a bow requires dexterity and technique but unless it's a longbow any retard can do the draw which is maybe 20 pound stress at most.

Crossbows aren't firearms either. It still requires the same dexterity and arm/shoulder strength to prime as a bow. Both are essentially the same thing, except crossbows are objectively more burdensome to reload within the chaos of battle.

Ideally you want a country without a standing army and with citizens being well armed.
Issues of gun violence atleast among 1st world peoples are generally due to failing of society and the system and not because of the existence of guns
I will say that military developments beyond small arms have probably been bad for human freedom and nukes are a level beyond that
it would be good if we got rid of all tanks/planes/nukes
would level the playing field and make it more difficult for minorities to suppress the majority
