IWGP doesn't have that many defenses, let alone Tokyo Dome defenses. We all know Kenny was good in NJPW, but it's clear as day now he benefited more from working with those guys than they benefited from him, in terms of performance. Ishii match was based, just not as great as their G1 match.

As more time in AEW passes and Cody is doing pretty well, I'm thinking the problem there was just Cody didn't fit the NJPW style. I kind of wish they'd done something more like Cody/Dustin in San Francisco now, it probably would've been kino.

That's true but by November it became annoying. He did nothing to build up the match for WK in terms of wrestling. Only did a tag match really. Also, I disagree about Cody, he seems very smoke and mirrors like Haitch was for a while. At least with Haitch with the right opponent it was an actual wrestling match.

I met him before when he had the IC title. Kenny's line was around the Convention center floor, Ospreay had no one in line, Kushida had a few people, and Tana's was maybe 1/3 of Kenny's so I got in that one.
