This is what professional wrestling is supposed to be

This is wrestlekino and a testament to how much better you can make a match when you go against the plan and lean into the crowd reaction. An indictment of how stale and overly scripted WWE is today.

Shame about the fifteen minutes before this finish though, because they fucking sucked ass.

Just rewatched the ending and I love how everyone booed during the rock bottoms but immediately popped for the peoples elbow.

it takes forever gettin in, they spend like fifteen minutes staring at each other, you know, i can't even get through it, i've never even seen the ending.

YOU'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN THE FINISH?!

Yes, but these are the two greatest stars in the modern history of the business working off each other, imagine if every Austin Aries motherfucker had the liberty to go off script live in the middle of a match? Complete chaos.

TV in general is overly sanitised these days.

I mean obviously it's an art, not a science. But WWE swings too hard to the other side of the scale most times. Giving the wrestlers a little more freedom would go a long way.

It's 100% a spectacle and as such it will eventually be lost to time as one.
In 20-30 years most wrestling fans wont give a shit for Rock vs Hogan.

I have tried on three separate occasions to ge through it, and I get to the spot where the Rock's whipping Hogan with the belt. That is NOT a great spot, I have no idea who the heel is, it's like they're working a different program than the one they built. That's where I lose interest and I go away.

holy fuck you're dumb

This has to be up there in moments that women will never understand.

As a Torontonian this was not only the greatest moment in wrestling history from a story perspective but also from a civic pride perspective. Greatest heel turn by a city ever

>it's like they're working a different program than the one they built.

That's why it's great you fucking mark

Cringe. This is why people make fun of wrestling

worked

There's some blissfully ignorant part of me that believes there is a chance there will be some star our there that will usher in a new boom period, but there will never be crowd reactions like this again. The singing, the chants, whatever other cancer is out there; none of it will ever beat these bordering on primal yells of raw emotion.

agreed user. Shame to cuz I hate that dancing and singing and chanting this is awesome cuz someone did a bodyslam

>He beat Andre the Giant with that move!

Where does this rank in all-time greatest wrestling calls?
