Japanese wrestling is so soulless now. Back in the 90s it was full of soul, everyone did their own shit, you have companies dedicated to deathmatches; piranhas snapping off some poor dude's dick, public bathouse and wet market brawl, exploding swimming pools with barbed wires. If that wasn't your cup of tea you got the traditional wrestling of NJPW and AJPW, one that perfected the NWA style with escalation and big moves as the match progressed, the other with differnt philosophy that wrestling is martial arts and it could end anytime. And if that wasn't your taste, you could creep on the joshis scene and buy their gravures and AV CDs and go back to jerk off. You want fake MMA? You got it with the shoot style. You wanted flippy midgets? Michinoku pro takes cares of that and they even do it for free becaue they're such marks to their cause. Now everyone just does 30 minute soulless no sell choppas on auto pilot and calls it a day. Shit a nigga can only watch it for so many time before he finally says fuck it and stop watching

Indeed.

>choppa

>choppa
Stop defending shit and call shit out when it's shit, drone

Sorry I forgot there are only four professional wrestling companies in Japan.

Unironically watch Wrestle-1 and DDT.

Literally all of that still exists. Deathmatches jumped the shark for the most part, but the wacky ones are still around. There's even more now than there used to, fucking Super Delfin has his own promotion of seafood mascot dudes. There's ridiculous amounts of absurd local indies from Japan on youtube.
Fucking killyourself, nujapanlet. The only company that really lost its soul is NOAH. NJPW swapped its soul for some sort of wwe/pwg hybrid with the most by the numbers strong matches conceivable.

ca

>watches DDT
>forarmaa
>watches W-1
>choppa
>watches DG
>slappa
Same shit

HAVE SEX YOU FUCKIBG LOSER

classic passive aggressive weeb drone

Seething nujapanlet.

Based retard virgin incel thinking some dingy warehouse wrestling in front of 25 people is the same as the 90s scene unironically exposing himself as a nu japanlet what a fuckin bitch

Take your own advice LMAO

Bingo hall shows are not on the same level as FMW that was selling out 30,000 seat stadiums

Its weird seeing people argue on this board about something not involving the E

>No deathmatch wrestling
>BJW and FREEDOMS exist

Reading would be your friend

>Sold out stadiums to watch guys throwing each other into an electrified swimming pool

God I miss it

Definition of Soul. Unlike that one idiot nu Japanlets sperging out and calling others nu Japanlets to mask his insecurities thinking it's even comparable to shit like today. Fucking filths are the reason why Japanese wrestling is so soulless today because they're cucks who happily eat up the lazy shit they've been fed

4+ Who Japan that matters most keep seething weeb dronie

Yeah, FMW's prominence in the early 90s is not well known enough by western wrestling fans.

The 1995 FMW 6th anniversary show, which would be equivalent to FMW's Wrestlemania, drew 58,250 people according to wiki. Whether that number is true or not is anyone's guess, but Kawasaki stadium holds at least 30,000 people.

In 1995 WWF's highest attended show was SummerSlam with 18,052 in attendance at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.

1993-96 are very odd years in pro wrestling history where you have more equality among the big promotions than any other time in the last 40 or so years of wrestling. There was a period where Vince was almost just another promoter and popular wrestlers could have leverage over him by threatening to just walk out the door to someone else who could pay just as much or more.

This projection, holy shit.
You can move the goalposts to
>why are there no TV stations and sponsors throwing money at wrestling in Japan anymore so we can have shit like Sasake doing outdoor events in random carparks?
But that's not what you asked and I'm not a Japanese TV station or sponsor so I don't know.
Based labotomised user
>its not the same because less people want to see it
That's some serious autist logic.
And I said the deathmatches aren't the same anymore for the most part anyway. I'm sick of seeing light tubes.

I would also like to point out that Mike Awesome was a prominent heel in FMW during this time. He was known as The Gladiator and held the promotions top title, the FMW Brass Knuckles Heavyweight Championship. And he held it during FMW's biggest years.

So when you read a comment about how Mike Awesome was underrated or should have done more with his career remember at one point he was the top heel (and later top face) of what was briefly the top wrestling promotion in the world, and was a two time world champion there.

It's ok user, you can like your literal who run down fed held at a retirement home for 30 elderly folks that never make any noise like it's a funeral if it makes you feel special about yourself. I'm sure there's a lot of soul in them

This

The thing I hate the most these days is the western finishing move mentality. I don't even know why fans stomp their feet when someone kicks out of a known signature move like Darkness Falls or running Destino. Mutoh was finishing matches with the moonsault, frankensteiner, top rope frankensteiner, figure four, cross arm bar, and dragon suplex at one point. Now the only believable alternate finish is a school boy. ZSJ is probably the only New Japan guy who has multiple finishes I could believe.

What's with the gay bloodsports fake mma shit. Just watch UFC if that's your bag

You're right.

Based golden age syndrome faggot

So much this
