*doesn't give a shit in your path*

Are the Japanese more tits or ass fans?

>injures himself in the ring becauase he was trained by a fucking mark

Not enough flips for ya?

This. Hopefully Shibata learned and only transferred the fundamentals, not his dumbass "give it all" philosophy that killed his career and any dimes he could've drawn after that match because he would've been an absolute star coming out of it.

Tits(small) and Tits(rocket).

Shibata never has to take another bump in his life and will always have a contract with njpw for it.

pity

>Shibata never has to take another bump in his life
And that kills him inside. When he got the opportunity on G1 Finals night to take another bump he did and was probably fucking elated to do so.
He killed his career as a performer and makes far less money behind the scenes.
There are no good angles to look at it. Dumb little mark worked himself and now you're defending that you'll never get to see him wrestle again.

this user going for the throat and btfo out of markbata

I'm not trying to shit on him. It just baffles me as a fan of his to see people defending his dumbass actions. Anyone who's a fan of his should chastise them. It was a cool spot that typified the match's story but nothing more, it wasn't match-making, without it it would've still been one of the best matches of a year filled with ridiculously good matches. It was unnecessary and deprived us of what would've been an increasingly fantastic career. Imagine Shibata vs Omega, Shingo, Jay, Heavyweight Ospreay, Ibushi? You can only imagine because he was too much of a mark to get there.

Mistakes happen,Shibata was one of the stiffest guys in the company and he happened to botch one of the most dangerous moves.

It wasn't a botch, the move itself was just dumb, a literal headbutt. The spot itself was a mistake.

What Shibata gave "the business" is bigger than any personal accomplishment of money or fame or any amount of money he could've made for the business. He gave us a sorely needed folklore hero, without which pro wrestling cannot survive and has no reason to exist, and of which lately there has been almost none for 2 decades or more. Other examples of these heroes are Antonio Inoki, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Georg Hackenschmidt, El Santo, Rikidozan, guys who have an asterisk next to their name as The Man above and beyond financial success, as heroes of bygone eras who became legends across generations. "Who cares, money and miles", right? Wrong and here's why.

Someone has to be the genesis "mark" otherwise the concept of the business doesn't exist. If no one person thought it would be cool to be a fake fighter as a way to make money, nobody would've done it and it wouldn't exist. Why would you want to be a pretend badass for money if you can do it for real or just do any number of other meanial or physical jobs, or public facing jobs for more reliable money, less risk, less personal investment? If it's just about money it's a comparatively shit way to make money so that isn't why it exists, it exists because someone simply enjoys the idea of being the toughguy show just for what it is, regardless of the money. We'd call that person a mark for the business or a mark for themselves or both, but without that person there is no pro wrestling for anyone else to participate in with the "money and miles" mindset while calling everyone else a mark. So these "marks for themselves" are just as important as the guys who draw the house, because these folklore heroes prop up the whole concept of why anyone would care to begin with. Without them you're left with a sea of johnny reddits that make you think "what was the point of this again"? Pro wrestling can't all just be Rock and Austins, someone has to be the Lesnar or Fujita.
