well ok if you were an adult it's a little different because you are more mature and personally responsible and you have the legal power to charge them with assault if you decide you don't consent to be beaten. but even so, that's still really sad. i won't say you didn't deserve it, since you were an adult at the time whether you deserved it is for you to decide. but i will say, even if you did, i still think they should have found a kinder way to address your bad behavior. whether you were *a* child or not, you were still *their* child, and they have a responsibility to help you grow, not hurt your growth.
