But why should you compare one to the other instead of looking at both things for itself and then forming an opinion?

Because you want to know which thing is better, not if both are bad or good to some extent, since in the end, you'll have to pick one, and you'll want the better one.
For example, if you have to choose between two bad things, you'll pick the one that is slightly better, that means that comparation matters more than neutral third party observation and evaluation.

We treat each other differently because we each have our own views created through experience and perspective.

This fact makes it obvious why we treat each other different. Our values and views clash. It is best to give space and respect each other without forcing integration. Magnetism is a good basic analogy for this in a way, it is reversed, but if you force negative points together they repel.

No. Opinions are subjective and yes they do pertain to the topic here about communities and division.

What matters most of all is objective fact, That is the Grand unifying force we can all relate to. Our basic needs wants and curiosity can also be something that brings us closer.
