He’s 35 though so he was young enough to be around it. He’s only 3 years older than I am and it was already big around 2001-2002 since it was mainly mall goth kids that were the main ones to transition into it during the metalcore and commercial poppy radio friendly “emo” (Taking Back Sunday, etc.) boom.
