Is it just me or do AEW matches not have any pacing or psychology? They just go out there and do "cool sequences" and hit 100 finishers and ignore rules so everyone is in the ring for minutes on end.

I noticed that too. They have a very indie feel but with a bigger budget. It may just be an early ppv thing where everyone wants to look amazing cause they wrestle only once in a while.
It may get more grounded once weekly shows start.

It's not you. Their matches are shitty X Division "do as much as you can" purely visual bullshit with basically 0 storytelling or psychology. Except for like 2 matches so far.

idgaf about shitty gimmicks or no heavyweights or trannies or gays or whatever the fuck else, none of that is really important if the wrestling is just good, and that was supposed to be the draw of their promotion. But the wrestling fucking sucks so there's no reason to watch it because it's just a worse version of any other indy with a bigger lighting budget.

I thought I was going crazy since I always saw tons of praise for the wrestlers in that company but had never watched any of their matches prior to AEW really.

I'll continue giving it a shot but if every match is like that I'll probably just lose interest.

Yeah they have some really good talent like obviously Kenny Omega is an amazing wrestler, but idk why they don't want to book good matches that people can respect and want to see, it's pretty frustrating seeing a guy you like just waste his time.

I dont mean to sound like an AEWtist but I think its given the few shows and limited time everyone has had, each guy in the ring wants to show what they can do and showcase their abilities so the matches have a tendency to become spotfests. Also they havent really had the ability to even make story lines yet other than just the initial stages of rivalries between a few guys on the roster.

Im prepared to give it til next year some time to work out the kinks, I want the product to do well if only to push WWE to doing better (which it probably wont). That being said if Hangman wins the belt its going to put me off a bit. Jericho needs to be the first champ.

I just want both companies to do well and compete and push each other. I dont expect another monday night wars but if a fire is lit under WWE maybe it will be interesting for the first time in 8 years.

On BTE, one of the Bucks said their tag match will be the main event on the first TNT night. I really hope they change their minds and make the womans champion main event. There's no other title matches that night. It would be disrespectful not to have the womans championship match main event the TNT debut.
