Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns is literally Dragon Ball Z storylines and I love every second of it. With everything that happened last night with the car accident it made me walk away feeling like Reigns is the equivalent of Goku and Joe is like that of Vegeta.
Joe and Reigns are both Samoan, with Joe having a ton of hype behind him with NXT and has been the heel the entire time while doing it.
Joe has not been able to beat Reigns and that infuriates him because he knows how strong that he is. This leads to the constant battle between the two.
Which leads up to last night. Typically it would make the most sense that if something were to happen to Reigns, it would be Joe behind it to continue their fight, but he is insulted by this because while he isn’t afraid to go for cheap shots, to do something like that is beneath him.
He shows a great level of pride with that and how he came out and demanded an apology at the beginning of the show. Then, once he has the chance for it, and he gets there, and everything happens - he is concerned about what could happen to Reigns because it is his mission/goal to beat him and prove to himself that he is the best Samoan (Saiyan).
I haven't watched raw in months, but that sounds pretty based. I doubt it's as good as you described
