When exactly did the Intercontinental Championship become a jobber belt?

2013.

When dolph ziggler got his grimy little hands on it

Attitude era.

Around the time Money in the Bank was created as the new "you're gonna be a champion in the future" accomplishment. So 2004

Yeah.

lmao i cant even remember who is even intercontinental or us champ

AJ and nak right now
Seems like they're going to have AJ job to ricochet though

Attitude era fucked it, Chyna winning it killed it.

Not long after Ortons first reign.

When HHH took it off Rock Summerslam 1998

when they gave it to honkytonk shit

when val venus won it in 1999. after that it's a long list of jobbers

How do they make it prestigious again?

>stop giving title runs to jobbers
>make the champion and competition look credible
it's not rocket science

Cena and miz where doing a pretty good job of it but then things went to shit again
Just make the champs credible and let them do cool shit, don't let them get pinned clean by the high card champs either

It had it's bad moments back in 90's, but the final nail in the coffin was when Swagger won the WHC in 2010 making it a clear midcard belt which in turn made the former midcard titles jobber titles

Have one world title and let the champ go on bother shows that. Make the ic and the us titles holders the number one contender of the respective brand. That way fighting for the title means something

During the attitude era and anyone that says otherwise didn't actually watched it

Make them number one contenders for one PPV only
Summerslam is US title
Survivor series is IC title
That way there's a limited window

Good idea

1995 when Sparky Plug caused the title to be vacated/held up in a match with Jeff Jarrett

Was the IC belt ever defended on Antarctica?

No.
Yes

When Santino's Honk-a-Meter ended.

The first time I won it

Stop passing it around like the 24/7 title

>make the champion and competition look credible

There is your problem. Promos and all other stupid shit is more important then the matches in Vinces head

This

I don’t know they don’t just print fifty more belts and give one to everyone in the company

It was even before then. Texas Tornado, the Mountie, Marty fucking Jannetty, and Marc Mero all had it before the attitude era even started.

Id say the belt was prestigious up until around the late 90's . The next ten or so years the belt was getting demoted lower and lower in status . Finally, we have what it is today, which is complete and utter shit. Its amazing because at one time the IC felt so important. They have really devalued that belt .

Every year at a ppv the IC champ gets to challenge the Universal or WWE champ. Make the IC champ look strong in the matches. Maybe an upset win once in a blue moon. The build up to the ppv will give the IC belt meaning.

Having 2 of every title make them all meaingless. There's like 11-12 belts on the roster, fucking overkill.

JR said it best recently, championships have never meant any less than they do now.

Agree. Imagine if tennis had 10 majors a year they'd lose all prestige and people wouldnt give a shit, having just 4 makes each one special.

>the holders of the US belt and the IC belt get free shots at the title at summerslam and survivor series respectively
>treat the holder of the title as if they ARE maineventers on RAW and smackdown
>don't randomly feed the champs to the top guy, that's fucking retarded
>give the belts complete redesigns, make them look cool
This will guarntee more people actually watch the big PPVs, makes them feel more special and shit
It also makes people care more about who holds the belt and provides a way to filter the kofi's of the world by taking them on a main event test drive
