They did things backwards and went broke before they got woke...then went even more broke.

If the company closed and came back with Claudio, Sara, Brodie then they might had a shot. Their other draws in Eddie Kingston and the 2/3 of the Colony just got tired of working in Chikara and left.

So what it was left was a company with Icarus as the top guy, which bless him, it's really not enough to survive in this day and age

Quack is also busted up so he only wrestles in special matches.
Who is left from that? Fire Ant, Ophidian, Hallowicked, Frightmare, Icarus, The Throwbacks and uuuh Chuck Taylor?

They had to survive on midcard/uppermidcard acts who had to be elevated to the main event and a bunch of new guys who are just now becoming maybe something worth watching.

You know Chikara is dead by how slow their shows are uploaded on XWT.

The Chikara vs The Flood storyline was pretty based, but they never should have had the main villain lose his mask until the very end. He wasn't as intimidating without it. The goofy tournament they did the next season kind of ruined it for me, although King of Trios is usually pretty solid every year.

I liked the year round tournament desu.
It was The Flood storyline that didn't work for me at all.

Once they killed Archie it was over for me. He was the soul of chikara

I took 8 hour bus trips to see KoT in 2008 and 09 in Philly.

I bought tons of their DVDs from 2007 to 2010.

Then Quack cheated on his wife with Saturyne. Then he got divorced. Then he folded all his assets including Chikara so she wouldn't get anything. And now we're stuck with the shell it is now.

I remember hearing that there was a time that Chikara was trying to pitch the idea of a wrestling show to nickelodean or cartoon network or some where as a sort of Saturday morning cereal type program.. Essentially GI Joe but with wrestlers instead of soldiers. Shame they never got picked up.
