Chris Resnick, who was an important cog behind the scenes for Ring of Honor as a Director and Producer for the company's weekly TV series and PPVs has been hired by World Wrestling Entertainment to work full-time on WWE Network programming, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
We are told Resnick informed ROH yesterday that he would be departing the company. He's been with ROH for eight years, working on over 400 TV episodes and was extremely well liked by the talents in the company.
Resnick had directed a number of PPVs this year for ROH including the G1 Supercard and the Crockett Cup. He also handled a lot of the graphics and video packages for the company. His departure will certainly be felt.
This guy won 3 Emmies for video editing, how the fuck was he stuck working at ROH?
William Taylor
but i thought it was just gonna kill the e! wtf bros
Christopher Martin
The most important question is this the end to the shaky/zooming cam?
Austin Edwards
The fact that Dunn has lasted in wwe for 30 years is amazing. He's shit, and from the sound of it, everyone hates him but Vince.
Bentley Howard
Probably a mark.
Nathan Taylor
Well. The story goes that Kevin’s father once saved a bunch of old WWF footage from the 60’s and 70’s from a fire so Vince gave Kevin a job for life.
Jordan Moore
They're basically 4th choice or worse. No-one with any talent is going to stay there.
Ryan Jackson
>WWE Network programming Dunn's never worked on 'Network programming', he's TV-only. He ain't going anywhere until Vince is.
Aaron Lee
Doesn't ROH has some of the worst TV productions in wrestling?
Ethan Fisher
they definitely had some issues the first year or so after sinclair bought the company and gave them the cheapest, shittiest, broken-more-than-half-the-time equipment possible. in recent years they actually started fucking spending money trying to make things look decent
Mason Gonzalez
>gave Kevin a job for life.
doesn't explain why he isn't a cubicle monkey
Christopher Anderson
The Young Cucks cucked them. It's not like Sonny Kiss vs a librarian murdered them.
>Only draws were The Elite >Only halfway compelling storylines anyone gave a shit about were NJPW storylines >Delirious doesn't know how to book a storyline beyond "these two guys are available tonight so lets put them in a match" >Sinclair refuses to invest any resources into them to improve production or recruit and retain talent >Sinclair can't be bothered to try getting them an actual TV deal I mean a lot of this shit was true in the past as well, the difference is with AEW around and NJPW easy to find and in the consciousness of the smark fan, there isn't really an audience left for ROH.
Luis Hill
He's close with Vince. They basically work in tandem. Nobody else likes him. If Vince is stepping back I could see Ratto retiring or given some office fluff job. Makes me wonder if Vince is leaving Gorilla.
Andrew Bell
I honestly would not be surprised that if it gets hella hella bad, not that its not shit hole now, but I mean tap out bad, WWE swoops in to buy the library. Haitch would want it considering it has some of the indies guys he poached and also just so AEW doesnt have access to it.
Vince might leave gorilla for a bit just because XFL is going to debut soon and he'll have to spend time on that. Doubt he can be on the road and handling another project like that at the same time
Liam Hernandez
Shane likes him. Dunn was with Shane when he tried to take over creative in 2012. Just think, if Shane won the power struggle and Vince ever retires we might have been stuck with Dunn forever.
That said there was that story a few months ago about how if Vince isn't there at the show in gorilla, Dunn won't be there either.
Cooper Davis
Shit product for years but not big enough to get through it.
Isaiah Thompson
never capitalized on the hype they had at the time and really recovered from getting raided as a result
Joseph Jackson
never really recovered
Carter Flores
Shane has no power there anymore.
Michael Kelly
>Dunn won't be there either. yea that's because the Vince's other kid hates him. It's been an open thing that Haitch and Steph would fire his ass the minute Vince crooks. Dunn must be examining Vince's bowel movements at this age
Brandon Roberts
Bucky Beaver is safe as long as Vince is alive. The moment Vinnie Mac goes to hell, Dunn is out. Still he's fucking rich so I don't even know why is he still working.
If Haitch is replacing Vince, this Resnick guy would make sense for being Haitch's pick to replace Dunn because Haitch prefers working with huge fans like Resnick.
Typical boomer taking credit and benefiting for what the greatest generation accomplished and then shitting on it for everyone else.
Isaac Campbell
>Network programming So NXT? I'll be optimistic if you told me Vince and Kevin Dunn were both out.
James Butler
To be fair, the 60 jumpcuts in a minute and camera motion on chairshots is fucking horrible shit and Dunn should be slapped silly for it
Ethan Williams
Look at the big picture. The gorilla position-producer relationship is important. Vince and Dunn run the show currently, because they need to be in sync to make it work and interact the most during the show. Haitch runs gorilla during NXT and is the only other guy who does gorilla on WWE shows other than Vince. Haitch likely hand picked him as his Dunn, because he loves wrestling marks and Resnick is such a wrestling mark and talented editor he won an Emmy for a news bit on traffic and booking it like a PPV promo ( youtube.com/watch?v=r9v_yeuP3Hs ) and instead of getting a lucrative job in Hollywood he instead decided to work for hotdogs at ROH. Vince is clearly delegating talent because he is a control freak and perfectionist so no one person can replace him. He has final say but his delegations will be Haitch on gorilla, Res as producer, Heyman as creative and corporate on Raw, Ryan Ward as creative on SD and Eric as corporate on SD.
Oliver Williams
I'm pretty sure Dunn hates working there and literally just phones it in to collect a paycheck at this point.
I remember Jim Cornette saying that Kevin Dunn used to be embarrassed to tell people he worked in the wrestling business and Meltzer recently reported that Dunn sold off a bunch of WWE stock.
Jace Cruz
Why do you guys pretend to know anything about tje inner politics of WWE? None of you know what Dunn is thinking lol
Austin Martinez
Do you think Tessa chinfucked Ricochet in the ass during blowjobs?
Kevin dunn is probably a retard in real life but he’s pretty good, the main thing I notice on other shows (NJPW,aew, impact) sometimes the angles are shit and you can clearly see the strikes missing by half a foot or a poorly done submission.
Nolan Bennett
I think it’s basically true that Dunn hates wrestling but it’s the only TV job he’s any good at
Colton Hall
Except he isn't good at it
Evan Thompson
Before you knew who he was did you ever notice the direction of a wwf/wwe show? It’s been lightyears ahead of other wrestling shows since the 80s.
Zachary Allen
Good. Dunn is absolute shit. I really mean it. Terrible camera cuts, disorienting zooming, the overproduction of LED signs EVERYWHERE is ugly and soulless, dude regularly botches name cards. I hope he dies tonight
Jason Stewart
WCW's camera work was legit better and ECW's camera work gave the show an outlaw feel that was pretty kino so yeah, Dunn was always shit
Ryder Fisher
>How is RoH dying all of a sudden? That's what happens when Matt Taven is your ROH champion
Gavin Turner
Ecw didn’t have any direction lol there was one hard camera like a boxing match, hardly revolutionary since 1905 and one or two ringside cameras.
Ethan Johnson
t. Never watched ECW. Know what you speak faggot
Gavin Wright
I’ve watched plenty and I used to watch it on tnt, the tv production was not a strong suit, all the pre recorded promos looked like shit, the image in my mind when i picture ecw Is a flat hard camera shot, the ringside guys did their best and got some decent angles but because the arenas were so small and intimate most of their shots are close ups.
WCCW was supposedly way ahead of the game in the 80s when they debuted on tv and their style was copied by everyone including the concept of entrance music
Charles Diaz
Who?
Jordan Lewis
Vince already confirmed he will be doing exactly that
Thomas Stewart
I c u didnt watch bte this week watch bte thn mayb you will understand liberain
Xavier Brooks
You're thinking MLW that just announced a NOAH partnership.
Daniel Howard
Cornette as always is right on everything that involves wrestling, you make 2.5 millions a year fix your fucking teeth.
Robert Martinez
Its over for the fag
Asher Wright
>billy BTFO >ROH BTFO >dunn BTFO HHH burying even on his b-day
