Well shit looks like AEW isn’t doing house shows at all. For a national company and even most indies this is a first

tbqh they should probably do SOME not anywhere as much as WWE but house shows are important in that allow for the talent to basically get to practice in front of live crowds with it being broadcast

Good. House shows are a waste of time and a relic that needs to go away

Everyone will have their own opinions on this, but I'm cool with it. One downside is revenue lost, which is offset somewhat by the demand created, potentially selling out more TV arenas since the shows will be less often. The other downside is that they won't be able to test certain angles with house show audiences, which puts a little more pressure on creative.
There are far more upsides though.

She says this like the lucha bros and the young bucks wont be wrestling in barns every other night for outlaw promtions anyway

This is actually what IMPACT does. They partner up with indies and record the broadcast for Twitch. I can see AEW doing the same

The whole roster will probably do this. until somebody important gets injured in the bingos.

>Mox can do AEW on Wednesday and New Japan on the weekends
BASED

Pretty sure they will do some if the company gets traction. But the tv deal is more important, and less dates means less possibilities for injuries. It's the right move, for now.

If they gave a shit about the health and well being of their talent they wouldnt rely on the talent and refs to drive injured talent to the hospital like they did.

They're basically using friendly indies for house shows.

Taping, Friday, Saturday is all a company should ever need.

Though, they're probably looking at what WWE is drawing ans thinking they would be losing money every time they step out the door. Especially when they would have all that overhead and none of the infrastructure in place to even do much touring.

So does that mean AEW will pay for plane tickets and ubers to and from the shows every week for all of the talent? or do i just not understand what's being said?

How is not wasting your money, health and time going to Moscow Idaho to take bumps in front of 900 people a bad thing?

Are they doing tv in a different city every week or do they have a dynamite zone lined up

I think Brandi mispoke, they clearly intend to do house shows

CEO Tony Khan:
>"If you do see us do house shows, they are going to be top shows with the top people, which means we're not going to be doing five or six a week of them. So when we get into weekly TV, I'd like to get into a good rhythm of where we're doing, let's say, between 100-120 shows a year, it's pretty busy but it doesn't mean every performer is going to be on every show. It means you're going to get a combination of our top performers every night."

WWE should have done this years ago but can't put their pride aside. House shows are a total relic of no benefit to anyone, especially in 2019 when 150 people are turning up at the gate.

>especially in 2019 when 150 people are turning up at the gate.

150 people is considered a sell out to AEW

lol how do they expect to get money if they aint want to do shows?

House shows are based but the e is kind of shit at promoting them and they're too expensive given the current sub par product.

WWE has a problem with how they pay their wrestlers.
They did not have any need to change it and wrestlers are being paid a cut from gate when they do a house show.
And eventho house shows are loosing money WWE now, they have to keep doing them, until they give all their wrestlers new contracts, reflecting that WWE makes almost all of its money via selling TV rights. There is no need to have as many house shows as WWE has.

Cope

They'll eventually cave and do some house shows to increase revenue but here's hoping they learn from the WWE, where people get injured because they have to do 5 shows a week in Bumfuck, OH

They should block film

Retarded parent company. Which is also still a very real possibility with this if Turner fucks it up somehow.

look at that fucking forehead holy shit lol

>Kia Stevens
Fucking who?
