If Ricochet really had a grudge against AJ, he'd maybe try to strike or slap him a little more often rather than say "Here's where I do the springboard rope backflip into my pose". No it isn’t. Workrate is an outdated term smarks don’t understand because they’re little kids, but it is literally the rate of “work” (running around, bumping, gesturing to the audience, actively selling, etc) to “not working”, or resting, “rest holds”, or filler, or aimlessly doing nothing.

You can even make an argument that there is an inverse relationship between rate of work and traditional American pro wrestling psychology because repeatedly holding the baby face on the mat to build sympathy for him to make a comeback is the laziest non active work you can do. This also highlights the fact that heels are traditionally not supposed to have a high work rate on purpose while baby faces traditionally are, which renders the whole gay theoretical measurement worthless.
