It's over for Impact. Tony Khan and AEW should just buy out Impact at this point, this is getting sad.
OH NO NO NO NO NO

Impacy is dead. its time.
This is like the 10th time TNA/ impact have been "dying". But they are like the cockroaches of wrestling. Nobody cares about them, yet they survive regardless. They'll somehow find a way out of this, yet again.
And what way is that?
What I don't get is why guys like Michael Elgin and Jordynne Grace keep signing with them
Impact have been begging Tony to buy them since AEW started and he's big leagued them. He doesn't want to be associated with that trash.
To think there was once a time WWE was actually interested in buying the company but they turned down the offer cause it wasn't enough. I bet now they'd be thrilled to get a quarter of what was offered.
Tessa is the only one anyone needs to plunder.
It looks like Grace has exercised an out in her contract. In order to get Grace, Cage and a few others to stick around, they are given the periodic option to leave their contract if they can produce evidence of a better financial offer elsewhere. Tessa does not have this clause, as she is on significantly more money. This is how LAX and Johnny Impact were able to walk so easily mid contract. (note, Scarlett and Kross were not on this type of contract, as they didn't have the negotiating power to ask for it when they signed. The fact that others could walk and they couldn't was a huge point of anger for them)
Elgin literally couldn't get work elsewhere. He burned his bridges in Japan by refusing to work angles he wasn't going over in (mainly Jay White and Juice), and then was passed over by WWE and CMLL. It was Impact or MLW. He isn't making enough, certainly not enough to live off, but Impact are paying for his travel to and from all events he is booked on.
Large parts of the roster see the dollar signs in their eyes with AEW. Johnny Impact is about to become Johnny Elite, and LAX, Grace, Rosemary, and Eddie Edwards are headed that way too from what's been floating around. Cage will go, but only if they hire Santos as well, which they eventually will, but word is that they want a bunch of people to come in as 'year two' guys, and see Brian being the biggest of that bunch.
AEW can buy them and use impact as developmental like nxt is to wwe. Plus the library has to be worth something at least
They're already at rock bottom mate. They literally stream their show for free on Twitch. Their shows draw like 100 people. I get your point about the roaches but at a certain point they will have 0 fans and no TV deal. It will be the cam whore of pro wrestling
Dont know why the online narrative for impact is so positive when they are actually at their lowest point in history. Couldnt sell 1000 tickets to their biggest show of the year when NJPW were in town, on pursuit getting a reported 20k live viewers, streaming their content totally free thinking they are somehow 'ahead of the curve'.
They have nothing to offer but a tape library anymore, its over.
they outdraw roh right now
Say what you want, but AEW would unironically save the company. Impact becomes developmental, the boys and girls get paid, AEW buys out all their joke """"contracts"""" and gains a very strong roster with key free agents like Killer Kross, Brian Cage, LAX, etc, their tape library. Don Callis is very great friends with The Young Bucks, Kenny and Chris Jericho and I'm sure he'd love to work directly under them.
It's entirely up to Tony and Shahid Khan to make that financial decision. Whether they see Impact as a worthwhile investment remains to be seen.
>Elgin literally couldn't get work elsewhere. He burned his bridges in Japan
Uh, he's booked for Big Japan's Korakuen and Nagoya events next month.
This.
Make impact like nxt
I very much doubt that. ROH has been outdrawing them for the past couple of years.
Impact is actually good now too
That being said, they're never going to die. Impact will outlive everyone.
Actually I dont think they do, their buildings are definitely more full but they book tiny buildings. ROH is still booking 3-5k seat venues.
No. They outdraw them as of now. RoH's most recent show was not good. IMPACT's Slammiversary sold out 1000.
Fuck Impact is the kiss of death isn’t it. Anthem may go under just to support this money bleeder then they’ll get some other sucker to buy it
>they will certainly die this time says increasingly nervous man for the 30th time
I love how TNA makes the Meltzer drones SEETHE
>ROH is still booking 3-5k seat venues
and they're largely empty
Naw, keep that faggot tranny company away

>Some news regarding the rumored @AXSTV + @IMPACTWRESTLING deal. AXS declined Impact’s interest. Impact/Anthem then floated buying AXS from AEG, Mark Cuban, R Seacrest Media, CBS +CAA. I don’t know how they could afford it. Would need huge private equity $. Seems like a Hail Mary
>AXS is not interested in exploring a buyout with Anthem. Things appear very unstable at Anthem Media. Employees on edge.
>Forgot to mention ... AXS declining interest from Impact/Anthem is the reason for the Twitch press release. An attempt to save face. The timing is no coincidence.
Whole twitter thread.
Compare overall attendance - ROH outdraws them easy.
nope. attendance has plummeted this yearIMPACT outdraws them once again. this is a fact
We get it
source: Your ass?
>Scarlett and Kross were not on this type of contract, as they didn't have the negotiating power to ask for it when they signed. The fact that others could walk and they couldn't
But Scarlett DID walk away
She'd be Natalya-tier at best in WWE.
>impact put on a great show for the last few years, with every ppv delivering
>B-b-b-b-dixie did this ten years ago!
every time
TNA will exist in some form until the heat death of the universe. They're cockroaches.
TNA will never die
I don't know how they do it but they will never ever go away.
Every time I think TNA is going to die they find a way to survive. Even if the company shuts down I'll still think they'll find a way to come back.
AEW needs to stay far away from TNA. It's a toxic brand that people will never give a chance too again. Hope WWE buys the library so I can watch old TNA on the Network. TNA's network sucks.
>It's a toxic brand
Sure thing Meltzer drone
>"I refuse to watch good wrestling because of things totally different people did years ago"
why do we need to pay attention to people who say this?
He's talking about New Japan, BJW is way smaller.
There's also the rape stuff, even if it's bullshit hiring Elgin would be bad or for AEW
...
>barely 9,000 viewers on a FREE twitch stream literally anyone can watch
yeah that's sure a strong brand. TNA tards are still in denial and it's still hilarious.
Scarlett had to be released, she didn't walk out.
BJW's last Korakuen show didn't even sell out lol
Companies not named NJPW very rarely sell out Korakuen. What you should say is
>BJWs last Korakuen show only sold 600 tickets lol
>Scarlett was on a contract where she couldn't leave her deal, thats why she was released when she asked
Why buy a company that doesn't make money? Tony Khan might be autistic, but he aint full on retarded. There's literally no advantage to buying out TNA/ Impact. Even WWE passed up the chace too a few years back, because they know the same truth. It's just not worth it.
Hammerstein is such a Kino venue
TNA is long gone and hasn't existed for many years
why do you fucking idiots say WWE/AEW or whoever the fuck else should buy worthless promotions such as ROH or Impact? There is a reason nobody watches the shit, and part of it is they have literally no draws or fans. I swear people here are fucking retarded ass marks when it comes to business.
>Impact is dying!!!
>because they seem likely to go under anyway, AEW should spend money and buy them for some undefined reason that makes no business sense whatsoever
wew
Just buy some of the talent contracts and get Cyrus for commentary.
Over the last several weeks, there have been rumors that Impact Wrestling was in negotiations with AXS TV about bringing their weekly series to that cable platform. That rumor has been incorrect, because something much grander has been in play - Anthem Media, Impact's parent company, has been in talks about acquiring AXS TV.
The talks date back at least three months and the initial hope was to have had the deal done by early July. Had that gone down as hoped, Impact planned to announce they were moving to AXS the Monday after Slammiversary, but the deal was not consumated. Anthem's potential purchase would not have changed New Japan or WOW's status with AXS we are told.
There were rumors over the last day that the AXS TV purchase was dead but PWInsider.com is told that the talks are still active as of today.
AXS TV is one of several potential outlets Anthem has been looking at in order to add to their footprint in the United States, so it stands to reason that should the AXS TV deal not happen, if Anthem acquires something else, that is where Impact Wrestling will land.
I gave Impact a chance last year and kinda fell off. I think the promotions biggest problem is the rotating door aspect of top stars and just the overall roster. Sure you got some easy standbys who have been there for years and maybe will always be there (Moose, Rosemary) but the main event and X Division scene is so different than it was just a year ago. Look at Redemption 2018, was a awesome show and I feel like the roster was stacked with talent, now practically all of their big players are gone as of Slammiversary. It's hard to get invested in anything when I just have this feeling that storylines or wrestlers who are there will be there for a couple months before leaving, and they've always had this problem ever since they attempted a few rebrandings. It's kinda a shame.
you need to take a break from this board if you're getting memed that hard
PWInsider is reporting the AXS buyout is still on the table.
It's on the table but Mark Cuban is not interested in selling AXS TV especially not for some GFW Gold that Anthem bought from Jeff Jarret.
I think the promotion's biggest problem is that it's Impact. Nobody is willing to give it a chance when it has the same namesake as the bullshit that came before it.
Correct, the promotion is "not cool" with zero buzz plus they had zero good will left from most wrestling fans. Unless they have the greatest show in the world week to week for a year, they will never get back the fans they lost. WWE is currently having the same problem right now.
It's still TNA
