>was the top heel of Lucha Underground and he went over strong
>is the top heel of AEW and is likely going to go over again
how does he do it, lad?

Cornettes just seething because a bunch of outlaw manlets got a national TV deal and his fed never even came close.
Nobody gives a shit about Corny's hot takes on rasslin other than his little brigade of Meltzer-esque fanboy cultists who unironically think his word is law and he's never wrong about anything. Everyone else just listens to him in hopes that he'll go on one of his funny rants and threaten to cave in Vince Russo's head with a baseball bat.
Doesn't matter what your opinion on LU or AEW is. Cornette is a man stuck in the 60s and has no business trying to assert what the wrestling fans of today actually want. I can tell you one thing for sure, it's definitely not two fat middle aged men in non descript black trunks slapping headlocks on eachother and using first rope fist drops as their finishers.
Everyone knows wrestling is fake. You can't expose the business any more than it's already been exposed. You'd be a fucking idiot to think it's a real sport in the first place. Even bread and butter wrestling moves like the irish whip are just as blatantly fake as standing shooting star presses. Probably even more so because somebody could theoretically jump in the air and do a bunch of flips before landing on you in a real fight (presuming you're knocked out and just laying there waiting to take it), but the idea of grabbing someone's arm, throwing them in a general direction and them just kinda running non-stop in that direction for no logical reason is completely absurd and undermines all of Cornette's tired rhetoric about "exposin muh bizniss". You know he doesn't throw a temper tantrum whenever he sees fundamental but also completely nonsensical stuff like that in a rasslin match.
Top tier autism and working himself into a seething shoot
He didn't like LU? Went from based to cringe really quick then
get a load of this phaggot smark baka
>Nobody gives a shit about Corny
apparently Janella does
Based Cornette working the business into a shoot.
Based Corny
he went on a childish rant about cornette during the backyard show for gcw and then he mentions cornette again last night
cornette literally rent free living in this geek's head
He unironically didn't know who blink 182 was...he was amazed at the band name...this dude's out of it.
>childish rant about cornette during the backyard show for gcw
missed that one, so it's the second time already that he spergs out? What a fucking simp
>Nobody gives a shit about Corny's hot takes on rasslin other than his little brigade of Meltzer-esque fanboy cultists
Then why did the Bitchboi Joey Janelletty give him a shout out last night?
unironically the only people who know what blink 182 is are 30-year old boomers
How the heck do older people not at least hear the name of them? He acted like it was just this amazing insane name
>he went on a childish rant about cornette during the backyard show for gcw and then he mentions cornette again last night
>wrestlers getting worked by non-wrestlers who suckle the business' teat
That's honestly pathetic. Jobby Jannetty may be the biggest geek currently.
because they are not from his time.
he was like 45 when they were a thing in 2000.
you'll experience this as you get older, user, and you pay less and less attention to what's popular
Yeah you're right, except that I heard "Fuck you Jim Cornette" on an AEW show.
The thing is that his attitude towards basically anything that isn't from his time is one of pure, self-assured disdain. This is why he hates almost all wrestling that isn't the exact kind of stuff he grew up watching. He's free to have that opinion of course, but not when he's trying to force it on everyone and pretend any of that shit would sell to wrestling fans in 2019. It's basically the same thing as saying the music industry would be making ten times more money if every other artist was a Beach Boys tribute band. That's his dogma when it comes to wrestling.
>The thing is that his attitude towards basically anything that isn't from his time is one of pure, self-assured disdain.
A 60-year old with a trainwreck of a life and undiagnosed mental problems doesn't like
zoomer crap? THAT'S INSANE HE SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR BEING A NAZI!
Seething or not, Cornette is 100% correct about everything regarding AEW.
They are a bunch of outlaw garbage wrestlers. The only redeeming qualities the top guys have is that they're good enough at what they do.
In the carnivals the word 'mark' literally came from the chalk mark workers would draw on the backs of people attending the show who they knew had good money and easy targets. Tony Khan is the absolute BIGGEST metaphor of that idea - So fair fucking play to Cawdy, Kenny and the Bucks for leaching off him. He's either too gullible to understand or he is likes the attention.
AEW will crash and burn.
Except that is obviously completely falsd if you listen to him. He broke down the AEW shows and everything he made sense and all the things he said should change make sense as well. He can back up everything he says, and admits when he likes things.
>A 60-year old with a trainwreck of a life
how you figure?
>a master IRL shitposter back before shitposting was even a thing
>made 6 figures in wrestling as a manager at age 20
>widely regarded as one of the best managers who ever existed
>wrestling is literally the only job he's ever had
>make a full time living from wrestling over the last 40 years
>has booked for literally every major American promotion since 1990
>now 60 and is the most over heel in wrestling because he knows EXACTLY what buttons to push and when to push them
this dude made a great living from wrestling for over 40-years and only ever took 1 (ONE) bump.
shut the fuck up lars
cornette has been secretly out to kill wrestling for decades now. just about every promotion he becomes "involved" with, like roh, has never recovered.
RoH collapsed many years after he left
reminder that Cornette literally saved ROH from going out of business because he personally brokered the sale of the company between Silkin & Sinclair.
While the Cornette years were shit, his CAW wars look like an absolute golden age compared to the shit ROH has been the last 3 years of so.
>trainwreck of a life
>makes cash literally just shitposting about outlaws
cope
>yeah, it was shitty then... but it is even shittier now!
everything cornette has had a significant creative role in was shit, including smw
Based. This is what smarks and anti smarks fail to understand about Cornette and loads of other wrestling personalities who 'shoot' these days.
Corney's been working the gimmick ever since the early 2000s perhaps even earlier.
Imagine thinking Cornette is actually a liberal ROFL
his shit in ROH was just... boring.
Just a steady diet of pushing charisma less-shitters like Strong, Richards, Edwards, Black etc.
ROH, as it stands right now, is arguably the worst promotion out there based on any metric. Terrible all around and are hemorrhaging money.
This kid HAHAHAHAHAHA. Mate he's the guy no one will admit they want the approval from but secretly do. He knows every major feud, fuck up, controversy and secret of the business from 1900 to today. When he hits the grave and 100+ years of wrestling knowledge goes with him THEN. You will see how fucking based this man is.
He was a good heel and part-time booker in Memphis. SMW was great considering it was the fourth-tier promotion in an era in which there was only WWF, WCW, ECW, USWA, and the death twitch of the AWA and WCCW territories. He also oversaw the last good developmental territory for WWE in the form of OVW. Ever since WWE developmental went to Florida, it's been shit.
If Cornette gets total control, his stuff is okay, but not great. His ideas work best creatively as part of a team, but the problem is he sucks at working with other people. Cornette is good for long-term vision and pay off, but his week-to-week stuff can be terrible (like wrestling a ninja turtle terrible).
This.
Cornette being a part of MLW as a consultant is absolutely one of the best things that could have happened to them.
So long as they don't trigger him and he's professional then he'll benefit them greatly.
>t. Jimcel cornetty
The best heels are always more right then wrong
KWAB
If Enema Of The State isn't one of your favourite albums then I want nothing to do with you.
You have your gens very mixed up
>Blink 182 were big among pre-teens from 1998-2001
>pre-teens/teens from that era are in their 30's now.
He was the reason that ROH got their deal back in the day.
He lives in every play wrestler's head, rent free.
gen-z shitters just call everyone older than like 28 a boomer now cause they think we're all fat useless morons
To be fair that one bump essentially crippled him for life. He wasn't even the one who was supposed to take that bump if I remember correctly.
>only takes one bump ever
>it was in the marquee match at a Starrcade
>seen and remembered by anybody who was a fan during that time
that one bump was all he needed desu
it's not about how many times you do something, it's about WHERE you do it.
But that’s not true at all. I thought this same thing until I watched Fyterfest and thought “well...that was something, maybe I’ll see what Cornette actual says” and it was nothing like what people pretend he says.
Trips of Truth. Cornette will be the ultimate heel until he dies cursing Russo. That bump was sick, Bubba couldn't catch him the right way and it fucked him up hard. His blade job in 89 i think was pretty epic too.
You never saw SMW..I live in the area and watched it every weekend on TV and went to some shows.. crowds were always hot as hell. Fans went nuclear when they got Bob Armstrong in the cage and ended his life almost.. plus got the fans so far behind Buddy Landel when he fought HBK in Knoxville it was crazy. SMW was awesome as hell, so much better than shit now.
Cronies last run on impact was actually pretty good but I don’t want him any where near any other wrestling promotion
It doesn't matter what you want.
Also his OVW guys were the last generation of guys who could actually draw.
>Cornette is a man stuck in the 60s
This is so true. I tried listening to one of his podcast on Fyter Fest, and this fucking boomer thinks Depeche Mode is disco or "came out around that same era"
Cornette is a turbo autist who literally only cares about wrassling so this doesn’t surprise me.
