Nobody goes into a PPV not intending to buy it, then changes their mind based on the preshow.

I'm not even an AEW stan, but I think their preshow approach has been solid: show the variety of their product. They have comedy wrestling, serious wrestling, hardcore(ish) wrestling, a few big names, show it all.

But for real, kill the Librarians bit. In the BEST CASE scenario, the crowd plays along and are dead quiet during the match. That's not good, and that is it's best case scenario.

The pre-show is free so it's their best way to entice people if not get that PPV then at least a future one. Everyone keeps making the mistake of going "people are buying now and watching so they have fans". So what? It's new. Of course people will check something new out. And the fans who already like them they arent trying to win over. It's getting the people who dont know them or havent watched wrestling, or only watch another promotion to get on board and their pre-show does nothing but turn people away. Look at this meta horseshit where you have to watch a youtube channel to understand a match that is literally a joke and nothing else. No one is following that, and they dont show any variety in their pre-show. This is what people come away with
