4.25 Stars is a good match and in seriousness Jay was the perfect fall-back for Omega, made sense in the story both taking it off Tanahashi and transitioning it to Okada. It's genuinely impressive how logical and cohesive of a back-up plan it was that they had main event angles in-case their main event angles fell through that could be flowed into seamlessly.
It also sent his stock up and he's overall very popular/over with the nips, so no, no mistake.

It was maybe a little too early, but NJPW's hand was forced by Kenny leaving and AEW forming. In the long term it was good, gave Okada something to chase and a fresh storyline for the first part of the year, even if things just felt sparse at the time due to depleted roster.
The most important thing is that Jay is demented as a main eventer and a hated heel now.
