I’ve learned ever heel trick out there except for 360 onwards and crazy stuff like biggerheel spins. I wanna kickflip sooo bad and I just can’t. I learned heelfips in a day and halfcab and backside heels super quick too. I’m sick of heel tricks. I wanna do kick flips but my timing is horrendous and it feels like I have a stump for a foot I always dolphin the shit out of my kickflips.
Finally got some half-decent air with my ollies, finally starting to get consistent ollieing over small obstacles. Every session is more fun than the last.

Fell pretty hard on my elbow today riding on the street. My arm's been weak and sore all day. I've only been skating a couple weeks so I probably deserve it. Kinda scared to get back out there but whatever.

I recently awoke to pool skating and was wondering about different board shapes and wheel types specifically for pool/bowl skating. Could anyone give me a quick rundown?

Thank you for the bump.

Accept the fact that you're a heelflipper and just do switch flips instead

whats the secret to skating nollie and switch. My left foot is retarded. As a matter of fact the whole left side of my body is retarded. I cant even jerk off with my left hand.
Also why are full cabs so much easier than back 360s

So I'm trying to pick up skating again but I have nowhere really to practice even just pushing. I live in the UK and everything is cramped together and I live on a hill, also I have no skating friends. There's a big spare room where I work I have 24/7 access to. I haven't checked it out recently but it's got a big concrete floor and I think enough space to practice in. But I have some questions about wheels:
1) I wanna go for slightly wider wheels because I'm scared the board is gonna slip out from under me. I'm fine with eating shit but that kind of backwards slip you do from not pushing right kinda concerns me. What would be a good width that isn't longboard wide but just enough to compensate a lil bit?
2) Because it's the UK and our streets are shitty I was gonna choose softer wheels too, anyone have any recommendations?
Anthony Adams
two popular choices are oj keyframe - 87a ricta clouds - {78,86,92}a according to the specs found online, the clouds are a bit narrower than the keyframes, although wider than "classic" spitfires - the standard street wheel
Chase Price
is this guy on raw or on smackdown?
Ryder Lewis
neat stuff, but those trucks dont look perfectly centered.
Daniel Cooper
Thanks, the OJs look good because the clouds are apparently too grippy to do tricks.
People say the OJs are fast, is that gonna cause a problem if I'm starting out?

Slip outs are only whippy if you're not trying to stay on your board. When you look at more experienced skaters slip back at high speed they almost look like they're kind of lying down on grass. Because you have wheels and bearings in between the board and the ground speed doesnt really effect the feeling of slipping out (As opposed to falling off where your board slows down or stops suddenly)
Say you're at the point where you feel like youre about to slip out. Trying to jump off or not fighting it is going to just make the board slip away faster, rotating you more and makes it more likely that you hit the one part of your body that shouldnt get hit (The head). Everything heals up over time and sooner than you think but head injuries can leave a lifelong mark. When you fight slipping out you'll slip out a looot slower (If at all) and have more time to get ready to fall properly.
Keep your knees bent. Always try to stay above your board on flat. Watch how other skaters slip out properly. The main focus is keeping your head away from the ground. You can help strengthen your neck for this by lying down and holding your head up for as long as you can. After the first time you do it it's not really painful to use your neck like that anymore.
I use the hardest wheels I can to skate in the uk and they've been worn down to about 49mm. Wheels depend on what you wanna do. If you want to street skate I would stick to the hardest wheels you can at about 54mm max and just avoid crusty pavement or push through. Wheels like that are the best starting point imo. With my current wheels I can push through most crust but really long bad crust I just walk through. Wheels that could let me skate through that stuff wouldn't be any good for skating anything else.
If you just want to hill bomb ask longboarders in the area desu. Different roads have different ideal wheels.
barrier skating its already a forgotten tradition like pressure flips and street plants
homos dont even post the reminders anymore

>bought 99A spitfires >found riding to/from spot impossible due to shitty crusty roads >got 80HD spitfires >pure sex Having said that, I'm a fucking kook who changes wheels upon arriving at the spot and then change them back when I'm about to go home. It's also hard to recommend buying two sets of wheels.
On the other hand, it really helped me improve because the #1 important thing for a beginner is to spend as much time on the board as possible. And since my life and job don't allow me to skate more than 5-6 hours a week, but the job is simultaneously the perfect riding distance from home, the soft wheels allowed me to ride every day, even if it's just 30 extra minutes a day when you add it all up. You learn some decent control when you zip around somewhat busy streets and trying every day helps drastically in your first year or so.
You're gonna have a bad time if you don't have a single street or a lot to skate around in. You shouldn't even be thinking about learning tricks unless you are comfortable riding around. The learning curve is just too damn steep.
Jose Watson
Sounds good.

Riding and getting comfortable are top priorities. You should feel good about pushing, turning, kickturns, slowing down and probably riding off of curbs too before anything else imo.

You fucking retard your right and left legs dont have the same mix of balance, flexibility, and dexterity. Take something as simple as kicking a ball, a football player knows one leg is better at standing for balance while another is better at the kicking motion. Now take something as technical as skating, obviously some tricks would translate better in different stances given the imbalances unique to a person. Now go skate you ass hat

Sounds like you’ve never skated outside a skatepark before because out here in the real world you can’t choose which way you wanna approach an obstacle and you’ll need switch in that case it opens up your trick selection nicely.

Trucks have nothing to do with it. You're just a beginner. You are making it more difficult for yourself by standing higher on tall, heavy ass longboard trucks.

insert the wheel until the hangar's axle has a good hold of the bearing, angle the wheel away from you, and the bearing will pop out. take the bearing shield off with an Exacto (don't discard). drop the bearing's in a solution of orange oil & alcohol. swish around and leave for an hour. swish and leave for 2 hours. swish and empty solution off, dry off completely then put back in wheel. put bearing shields back on if you're so inclined.
