Greatest of All Time. Nothing will ever top this masterpiece.
>GOAT tier graphics >GOAT tier roster, good mix of AE stars and RA stars with a minimal amount of literal whos >svr 2006 on steroids >GOAT gm mode >amazing artwork, menu >decent soundtrack >good mix of arcade/simulation type gameplay
Anything before this or after this is subpar. Wrestling games peaked with svr 2007. Firght me.
Something about HCTP makes it the GOAT looking back.
Angel James
Shit roster though
Parker Lee
It certainly has not aged well
Ryder Sullivan
Do any other GM modes even come close? Even outside of WWE games?
Nathan Evans
SvR 2010 was also based.
Ryan Lewis
the goat wrestling game
Liam Kelly
>decent soundtrack You mean GOAT soundtrack
Mason Miller
This, all smackdown games were already defeated before they were even made by all the VPW engine games and then KOC happened. The best smackdown game is still like the 10th best wrestling game ever made
Brandon James
>landlocked into 8 directions yeah nah, I had this game and the whole "can't run in 360 directions" made it shit
Landon Perez
I still throw this in every vidya thread. Seriously folks, go out of your way to emulate this.
>The better game was released the following year This was good too
Henry Reyes
I don't speak nor do I care for non translated Japanese gamez
Liam Gonzalez
>svr 08 >WOAT roster >WOAT look
Never even bothered senpai
Zachary Cruz
>Game that started killing keyfabe storytelling for a shoot simulator. >Better. Nope
Brody Phillips
how do you guys even remember the differences i played svr-svr2009 and it's all a blur for me
John Jackson
I like SvR 2011 the best for some reason. I think it was the physics stuff with tables and weapons and it introduced the ability to reposition a move as you were doing it. Doesn’t feel as slow as the modern games. Not Here Comes the Pain fast, but fast enough to where if you have three other players you can cause a lot of mayhem. It has a pretty weird roster too which I tend to appreciate more than an objectively good one. Every game has the same legends, how many games have Yoshi Tatsu or a playable Druid?
Connor Reed
2006 was better
Jace Adams
HCTP is easily the best multiplayer wrestling game. 3 or 4 players and it gets fucking chaotic real quick.
Henry Wilson
Oh also the 2011 had the best story mode too since it was all so fucking weird with the time travel and Undertaker match in a druid arena.
Elijah Bailey
YOU FUCKED UP YOU FUCKED UP YOU FUCKED UP
Isaac King
[Stares in WCW Revenge]
Jaxson Cox
Thats normal compared to the magical fairy wand storyline in 2007.
Juan Diaz
have sex
Benjamin Williams
Agreed. The stamina bar made it something special.
It's bizarre that no one's attempted a translation yet to be honest, it's Day of Reckoning, right down to the menu locations. Translations must be a programming nightmare on the cube as it'd be easy as fuck otherwise.
Parker Foster
For me, it's WCW vs NWO world tour
Christopher Hughes
for me it's wwe all stars
Henry Garcia
Doing a Faarooq spinebuster and rotating it slightly to put someone through a table on SvR 2011 was probably one of the most satisfying things I've done on any wrestling game. The only criticism would be that the tables tended to explode or flatten at the legs rather than just breaking in the middle.
Jackson Walker
Here comes the pain exists
Jaxson Lewis
I still cant find ROM of it. All the regular places have it purged.
Jayden King
The Road to Wrestlemania on ps2 was so fucking badly programmed.
Andrew Butler
Are you guys even trying?
Aiden Hughes
WWE All Stars rules
Wyatt Reed
Ok, this is that one 3D game Fire Pro fans always gushed about. King of Colosseum 2. Which one were you on fireproclub?
Jose Robinson
How do you expect me to search for an emulator for this game if the title is in naruto language
Angel Taylor
Holly shit, I actually giggled at that one, am I retarded?
Andrew Myers
King of Colosseum 2, you goof.
Justin Martinez
>King of Colosseum 2 Still cant find this rom, japs keep it pretty tight huh?
Dylan Collins
>you goof ok sorry sing buk uzumaki
Matthew Miller
Apparently so. If youre on rom sites anyways grab Kinnikuman: Muscle Grand Prix 2 if you can find it. youtube.com/watch?v=E_DKkh72d18
they don't remember, they like whichever one they grew up with the most unless it was complete trash then they parrot what threads have said in the past over and over. It all originates from the couple autistic anons who make threads where they create GM modes with others input
Joshua Carter
SVR 2006 on ps2 shits allover its decent successor.
Colton Harris
No mercy, n64. Shits on everything else I played and I still have it. I will admit I haven't played any of the recent ps4 or Xbox versions , do anons rate them?
Connor Richardson
> Awful weight detection system means Rey can't even do moves on Eddie > CAWs look terrible next to standard wrestlers, need to grind for skill points with each one, or clone an existing one so they all have the exact same stats > Stupid partioning of grapple moves into 'styles' or whatever it was called, makes it really difficult to create decent movesets > Ultimate Control moves OP as fuck > Slow as shit > Doesn't have the wild fun factor of earlier Smackdowns
It was bleh
Robert Watson
I just got 2k19 the other day after not having played a new title since 2011 I think. I fucking hate it. It’s gone way too simulation based to the point where it’s mostly just boring. I feel like simulation based gameplay doesn’t really actually capture the spirit of pro wrestling. Nobody watches for rest holds and nobody will have fun doing them in a video game for the sake of accuracy.
Henry Flores
The funny part is that 2k19 its the best of the games done by 2k
Nathaniel Jones
2k19 is alright for me if you turn off the reversal limits and some of the other goofy stuff like chain wrestling. Universe and multiplayer both totally suck but imo you can easily have $20 worth of fun playing wrestler dollhouse and matches against the AI
Ryan Martinez
It’s an R2 / Reversal button simulator. Every match is the same. Press R2 at the right time and wear down your opponents resiliency perks. It’s fucking boring.
Jack Young
I recently turned on my psp after about a decade and been playing gm mode on this fucking based
Lincoln King
All of these games get lame once you get good at them but there's at least a little more challenge with reversal limits off imo
Jaxon Hall
I might try it without reversal limits then, seems like a fun idea, cheers
Leo Nelson
Thanks to these games I'll always have a soft spot for the good ol' butt rawk. Killer tunes from each installation especially 07 holy shit.
I gotta say though, the most based one for me was SVR 2010. It was balanced enough, the roster was pretty deep and interesting, the Road to Wrestlemania storylines were intriguing (especially with the CAW) and most importantly it still looks good to this day.
