I seriously don't think Mick Foley was capable of ever putting on a bad match pre TNA...

I seriously don't think Mick Foley was capable of ever putting on a bad match pre TNA. I say pre TNA because after those days he was a lot bigger and a lot older and couldn't do any of the cool shit he did in like 1998.

I've been watching old episodes of Raw for shits and giggles and I got to 1998, a few weeks before the over the edge ppv. Mick had to wrestle Terry Funk for the opportunity to be the #1 contender for stone cold's title. Pretty much every match I had seen from these episodes of raw had been boring and uneventful and had ended in a DQ like 5 minutes into the match while rival gangs duke it out for a couple of minutes. Then this fucking match happens. HOLY SHIT. I didn't think the bookers would allow a 10/10 match on a random episode of raw because the whole point of it is to hype up the ppv, but then these two put on a fucking crazy hardcore match.

This is the only link I can find of the match but this is definitely one of the best non-ppv matches I've ever seen.

Anyway, does anyone on Yea Forums disagree and have some bad Mick Foley matches to discuss, or want to post any more 10/10 non-ppv matches? Was Mick your favorite wrestler when you were a kid?

Foley vs Michaels at that IYH ppv in 1996 is still one of the best matches from the 90s. And I don't care what anyone says, Foley should've won the title at the 2000 Rumble.

Fucking this. I remember meeting Mick foley when I was a kid and it's still one of the happiest moments of my life. Dude was fucking awesome for a fat guy. He's the best commissioner Raw ever had, and he makes everyone he's in a match with better.

>Underage zoomer tries to shit on a decent thread and everyone comes to my defense

I love you guys

If it wasn’t for the DQ finish it would have been perfect

If Mick Foley or stone cold steve austin wasn't your favorite wrestler growing up, get the fuck off my Yea Forums

mine was John Cena

Mine was Tazz. Ya seethe?

>not CM Punk

shut up people like you are why this board is such a dumpster fire of low effort trash

It's an awesome match. That bit where Mankind started to stab his leg with a pencil was kino.

I actually have no problem with that. Tazz was a bad ass in his short time with ecw. I also liked him as a commentator

Everyone remembers mick Foley vs the undertaker at kotr 98. No one remembers the absolute gem he wrestled with the undertaker 2 years prior in the "boiler room brawl" at kotr 96. The ppv where Steve Austin proclaimed: "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass"

>Foley should've won the title at the 2000 Rumble.
That makes no fucking sense.

Except the Boiler Room Brawl was SummerSlam 96

I preferred kurt angle but I started watching wwe at the very end of the attitude era and stopped watching after kurt angle left

Mine was Jeff

2000-01 Kurt Angle was fucking awesome

The Brahma Bull should also be an accepted answer

I liked Kenta Kobashi.

was he one of the WCW cruiserweights or something?

Actually fucking based.

For me, it was The Rock and Kane

Mick Foley, Bruno Sammartino, Jim Duggan and Hulk were always my favourites

based

I swear to God I remember that match being kotr 96. Are you sure?

Go fuck yourself zoomy.

I 'member. Shit was sick.

>I didn't think the bookers would allow a 10/10 match on a random episode of raw

Why do you think people pine for the attitude era to come back you stupid zoomer fuck

I didn't start watching until 2005, so Batista was mine.

Not him but yeah, the boiler room brawl was at summerslam and they had a regular singles match at kotr
