>It appears as though New Japan Pro Wrestling will definitely not be working alongside All Elite Wrestling any time soon. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio recently interviewed NJPW star Kota Ibushi and mentioned one of AEW’s top talents. The ‘Golden Star’ Ibushi’s career is heavily linked to his ‘Golden Lovers’ tag team partner Kenny Omega. When Meltzer brought up Omega during the interview at NJPW’s G1 press event Meltzer described the mood of the room as “fascinating.”

>Meltzer would elaborate further on the subject on a new episode of his WOR show. Dave claimed that the relationship between AEW and NJPW was “fractured.”

>Meltzer also stated that AEW was a “taboo” subject within New Japan.

>Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes were all vital performers in NJPW before they left. Meltzer speculated that the company were deeply unhappy with the way that the stars departed and began promoting their own shows and eventually their own promotion. When NJPW were scheduled to appear at Madison Square Garden this year it was heavily boosted by the appearances of the aforementioned ‘Elite,’ who then would not appear due to AEW starting. It was reported at the time that the two companies met after the show to discuss a potential partnership. Although now it is clear that there is no likely partnership happening anytime soon.

NJPW gains nothing from working with AEW.

but muh tv deal

they'd gain far more than they do from ROH

The Elite were not draws in Japan.
Having Kenny go over Okada in the US is all AEW want and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Name a junior as good as Bandido for BOSJ

>The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes were all vital performers in NJPW before they left

Fucking huh?!!??!????? On what planet were the part time Bucks and CODY vital to NJPW? These wrestling journos just blindly repeat whatever Dave says.

Look at this desperate AEWtist shill , knowing they're fucked even before taking off ahahahahaha why would NJPW want to work with ANOTHER competition and helping them strive, and after seeing what they did to ROH? You simps don't even have the basic business acumen

They gain nothing working with either. As of right now the best they could do is work with both.

>Cody
>Young Bucks
>vital performers in NJPW
jesus christ Dave

Why enter a business relationship with nothing to gain?
This is an unproven smark run company with more cultlike overtones than any other product besides the E.

>The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes were all vital performers in NJPW before they left
HANGMAN WORKED THE MOST MATCHES OUT OF ANY OF THE ELITE LAST YEAR WHILE WORKING FULL TIME FOR ROH
fucking hell dave

They'd gain a bunch of fags and weirdos

>speculated that the company were deeply unhappy with the way that the stars departed and began promoting their own shows and eventually their own promotion
>speculated
NO THAT'S JUST A FUCKING FACT
THEY FUCKED NJPW
Westerners are legit brain dead

>meet girl
>fall in love
>plan future together
>big house, picket fence, dog
>work hard everyday to achieve goal together
>savings account is looking healthy
>start booking viewings of potential homes
>future sure is looking bright
>come home from work late one night
>exhausted but it’s all going to be worth it
>she isn’t home, must be at her parents
>note on the fridge marked user
>she’s met somebody else and has decided to go and live with him
>his names Tony, he’s a poo and already owns a house and dog. Don’t call me

>Imagine actually believing that Cody and The young bucks weren't just riding Kenny's coattails

Fucking hell Dave hahahaha

They don't need to work with AEW, just Kenny will do.

Speaking of, he just tweeted this, saying he can't mention his name but he's rooting for Ibushi

They're obviously going to have a match or get back together at some point

>Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes were all vital performers in NJPW before they left.

Lmao, Dave is such a mongoloid.

WWE would have let kenny face kota at wrestlemania

Based. Keep those SJW shitters out.

Do you reckon those carny fucks The Young Bucks told Kenny that the deal with NJPW was already in the bag, to get him to sign

I'm 100% sure codys dumbass comes off smart as fuck to them for some odd reason even tho his goal in life is to be triple h

Think what you want of Kenny but he isn't a retard. He knows they're all riding his coattails which is why he leveraged himself a VP position.

They didnt fuck them, they left when their contracts were done. Wtf with this retarded mentality? Do your ex boss come each morning at your home to remind you that you screwed him because you left after your contract expired?!
Fuck off

Based keep the anti draw nips out of AEW success.

No I always get fired

Cody is the only competent booker that AEW has. All the goofy shit comes from the Bucks and Kenny. Cody is all about the old school American wrestling style.

This.

No omega left for more money more power and the opportunity and creative power to potray and expose the joshi to a wider audience. He left because he had nothing else to do in japan.if aew didnt exist he would have gone to wwe. Stop acting like a frustrated ex girlfriend

>vital performers
lel
Bandido was the worst part of the entire tournament

In NJPW's eye's they seemed unappreciative of the fact that they helped build them up, especially rehabbing Cody's image, and wouldn't work the MSG show. It's not like they signed a contract with WWE and couldn't work the show. The same could be said to a degree for ROH as well, especially in regard to Hangman. So it's not surprising there's some heat there.

Kenny made the right call. NJPW wasn't taking things to the next level in the United States like AEW is. NJPW was way too conservative while Kenny was way too ambitious. Don't even get me started on ROH and Sinclair's budget.

>AEW is taboo
>But hey, let's sign two of their top guys to part time deals
Fucking kek

And give the belt to one of them...

So THIS is the power of NuJapan in the states when they don't leech off of BASED Kenny and the Bucks.

I dont think NJPW knew about Moxley's AEW appearance when they signed him. The contracts are completely separate.

they did. He asked them to not announce him so his run in at double or nothing could be his first thing back.
they definitely started talking before they knew about aew tho

I don't understand this logic. NJPW gains way more exposure abroad, gets Kenny who is a massive draw in Nippon land and gets other draws like Moxley and Jericho who can also give them a boost in popularity both abroad, but in Japan, as well. Jeribloat or not, he is known everywhere in the wrestling circles and even beyond. One of the few wrestlers today that the average person may know of.

In turn what can NJPW provide? The only think I can really think of is a bigger roster to compliment AEW's small roster. That's it.

But they do. Look at the Dallas show. Fyter Fest drew a bigger crowd than the biggest NJPW USA Show to date.

>>Meltzer also stated that AEW was a “taboo” subject within New Japan.
But they referenced Jericho's match with Omega during his match with Okada.

Are you sure about that?.

They didn't mention the company name.

The problem is that Omega, the Bucks, and Cody thought that they could take a slice of WWE's PG-audience pie, but they forgot that PG-fans don't want ECW-type moves.

Is Dave Meltzer making shit up again? Or is someone misquoting him? Cause this might be Yea Forums fake news for all we know.

They're already drawing more than the WWE though? I dont really think AEW gives a fuck about PG fans, they've time and time said they want to bring back the old school fans, those of the AE.

yeah e-drones are giant pussies

they literally bailed and took like 1/7th of the roster and no showed events becouse they were using them to leverage a deal while also anouncing partnership with companies that were direct competition to them or their partners like CMLL while also shiting on the whole booking.

How is it that hard to understand they just don t trust them/are butthurt?

this

>Bailed
They fullfilled their contracts and left
> no showed events
They were never booked for MSG or the new beggining shows to begin with
>also anouncing partnership with companies that were direct competition
That was after NJPW didn't want to work with them
Stop making shit up to push your agenda. Nujapanlet.

Am I the only one who misses that "international" feeling WCW had. I was pretty young at the time, but it still felt cool that guys were showing up from all over the place.

I miss WCW. But only because I miss steroid users acting like based lads. No wonder we have shit like pride and trannies. So glad I grew up in the 90s

meh you are right, bailed isn t the word, more like trew an ultimatum that they would not work dates if there was not a locked up deal, the rest i think you are rigth, still they literally took people that were already on verbal acord like trent so i can see them geting buthurt for that and the fact that they had to drop half of the strolines early

Well they better get over it and Harold better make the call

>How is it that hard to understand they just don t trust them/are butthurt?
That's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing on who gets the most benefits out of a possible relationship between the two promotions. I totally understand NJPW on the other aspect.

>more like trew an ultimatum that they would not work dates if there was not a locked up deal
>Literally making shit up.
Stop it.

dunno, i think Harold is more like the public imagine guy who sells you bears, i think it is other people who needs to be concinced it is a good idea to make a partnership, over all i think they should wait a few years to see if they AEW can hold themselves well and how they manage themselves, they could send a few young Lions for excursion there and if they come out well they could forme a good deal

ok, they both didn t reach a deal and stopped working dates

NJPW are the bookers. They could have told Kenny to work the dates before his contract ended. They choose not not.

Not to*

dont do this

and you are right, but dunno, they probaly don t want to put the plug that quick and are waiting to see how they fare and how is their imagine as a fed, they are not actibly trying to poach them or see them fail

>New Japan makes Omega a star and builds their Western expansion around The Elite.
>They leave.
>Mongo Meltzer expects them to partner with AEW.

He's shoot retarded, isn't he?

hes a cuck who expects NJPW to be cucks

If that's true then why are PG fans the only kind they can end up attracting?

They should have a disclaimer that states that it won't be a PG event
