Cornette managing the Revival makes so much sense to me, not just because he enjoys the Revival's matches, but because one of his biggest gripes with AEW was the goofy shit. Revival with a Jim Crockett era moveset and Jim Cornette as giving his usual spiel of "No comedy or flip shit in my wrestling" would work considering how much of the roster is just comedy gimmicks and flippy shit.

The Young Bucks have the capacity to be great when someone else is holding their hands and keeping them from being fucking retards, which is why most of their New Japan shit was pretty good. But when they have too much creative control over what they can do, like they did in RoH and do now in AEW, then everything Corny says about them is 100% spot on.
