Pretty much this. They booked him well as a legitimate champion as well properly building the Smackdown uppermidcard (KO/Sami, Ziggler, Joe) but Kofi is just not doing it as a champion. He doesn't have it.

It honestly feels like a midcard belt while he's holding it. He was hotshotted into title contention after years of being the perennial midcarder--oh, and there was a reason why he never left his spot on the card for over a decade. Kofi has zero charisma and absolutely no presence.

He's been BOOKED well, but he hasn't wrestled, promo'd or drawn well at all. As people have said this is evidence WWE can still commit to a guy 100% in this day and age, they just can't pick the right guy.

Kofi Kingston's a 5/10 guy pushed as a 9. He's got a shit look and weak, slow, soft offense. I don't know how anyone can take him seriously as champion.

That unfortunately misses the best part which is late 2018. That was a drop to see.

Booking wise, he's really good, and it's amazing. I assumed he would have lost at least half his matches, but he always wins and is never mad to look like an idiot by a heel
