why do people still talk about this like it was some historic world event?

It was historic and took place in this world.
Kick started attitude era
Started decline of WCW because Bret was a shitter
>why do people talk about one of the most significant moments in wrestling history that brought wrestling out of a mini dark age and propel it back to the mainstream
>wrestling history
ding-dong diddly cringe
1997 was pretty quiet. The Yugoslav Wars had ended, and Kosovo and Monica Lewinsky was yet to come. This was actually the most important event in the world that year.
that's not the NWO shitter.
And yet, it still lives in yer boomer's heads, rent free.
The People's Princess died ya damn simpola.
Because of one Canadian fag that kept crying and bitching that he didn't want to do the wrestling tradition. Vince and HBk literally don't care about it. WWE even did some faceoff shit and Shawn was like whatever while Bret keep crying non stop.
Meh, I'm British, and even I recognise that Diana's death was merely local news that was insignificant next to events at Montreal. Not even the top British event for 1997. No one talks about that C list tart anymore, but they're still making documentaries about the screwjob to this day.
Based and people’s thot pilled
How old are you?
Because MUH NOSTALGIA
Did Vince screw Bret, or did Bret screw Bret?
Holy shit you’re actually right. The absolute state of this jabroni year in the news.
I have relatives in Canada and to this day when I visit then in Toronto they bring this up at least once. This was like Canadian 9/11 and it deeply affected them.
>This is like Canadian 9/11
I can't stop laughing at how odd yet accurate this is
BASED
it really doesn't
Kek. Never forget
Where were you lads when bret screwed bret? I was at home watching.
Based, Diana was a jabroni and never drew a dime
She should never have been given the Princess of Wales title.
In bed. Mum never let me stay up for the wrestling PPVs (though we got them free in the UK at the time). Kids who could stay up to watch it always spoilt the event at school the next day.
I mostly videoplussed them, then just fastfwded through the matches in the morning instead of watching Tom and Jerry Kids.
Only ones I missed were the days when Dad wouldn't let me tape it because cricket was on at stupid o'clock in the morning. Had to wait until IT class at school to get online and check Wrestlewire for results.
The Montreal Screwjob was a national tragedy.
You don't realize in Canada Brett Hart is still like a major celebrity. He still shows up on morning shows and all kinds of TV shows. Every single leaf I have met in my life knew who he was well. All they know is Canadian wrestlers and hockey players those are their stars.
Ugly pancake face old woman
Wrong
Those were the days. Sometimes I miss the 90s, but at least my mum lets me stay up and watch them now I'm 35.
