how come former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Cody couldn't defeat this little toothpick sized jobber?
How come former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Cody couldn't defeat this little toothpick sized jobber?
Darby has fighting spirit
because cody wanted a long match
Didn’t the match storytelling allude to him not taking Darby serious at all? And his hubris bitting him in the ass?
Reminder: Darby Allin bangs Priscilla Kelly and you not
Darby's gimmick is that he is almost impossibly resilient.
His uncle died. Have some fucking respect.
He gets to taste the tuna.
too bad his last memories of his nephew were of a suicidal skatefag.
I didnt think pro wrestlers could get any smaller jesus its like russian dolls what will they look like in 10 more years?
>the match storytelling
Go watch your sjw nigger man throw pancakes at tarps
I agree with OP this seems like bad booking. This company is making a lot of mistakes which are adding up quickly. The biggest one is just making everything complicated, this is just TNA but slightly less shit
Darby Allin is based as fuck.
I've never seen a match he's in that I've disliked.
You're a brainlet.
Ok?
>my gimmick is I don’t have to sell, I don’t feel pain!
>Commentary before the match is talking about how Cody picked a weaker opponent as a warm up
>That Darby was the underdog but had no real chance
>Darby pushes himself to the limit and refuses to stay down
>Match ends in a draw because Cody can't overcome Darby's fighting spirit
>People somehow missed all of this
>match storytelling
He channeled the spirit of Kurt Cobain, The Shotgun Genius!
>match storytelling
pls have sex and get a clue
Cody, the midget and you wouldn't know "storytelling" if it bent you over and bred your boypussy.
I couldn't get over his leggings.
>Pretend they're a genuine sports-like promotion where wins and losses matter and rules are enforced
>Whips the guy with a belt twice in full view of the referee
>Ref just waggles a finger as if she's admonishing a child instead of Disqualifying him instantly or at least taking the belt away from him
How do you justify this? Brandy was there, so they could easily have done a ref bump/distraction spot.
The same reason why refs let rough play go in any other sport. They don't want to shit up something good by inserting themselves into the middle of it.
>could easily have done a ref bump/distraction spot
And the less of these, the better. We've already had enough for a lifetime in other promotions.
take a shower
hit the weights
get a clue
I wouldn't have a problem with it if this happened in a higher profile match (IIRC commentary also mentioned the referee being more lenient with countouts during Omega vs Jericho at All In) but Cody vs Darby wasn't a championship match or the blowoff to an epic feud - just a fairly meaningless match on the midcard with no buildup. Rough play is fine (that's why they have five-counts for releasing holds and poking someone in the eyes just gets you a warning) but I feel that hitting your opponent with a foreign object crosses a line - like kicking someone in the balls, it should always be an instant DQ. Or at the very least it should've gotten a more severe reaction from the ref, grabbing the belt from Codys hand and throwing it out of the ring would've been good. Make it more clear that that shit is not acceptable. As it was, it kinda ruins the whole "we're a serious competitive sport" shtick for me.
