Traditionally it meant that the fight wasn't authorized by a sporting commission (State Athletic Commission, NWA, whatever) but the promotion was going to bring it to the people anyway. The move to "our company doesn't authorize this fight but we're going to put it on TV anyway" is crazy so it's not surprising that people look for an alternative definition.

The dictionary definiton and the wrestling definition of unsanctioned is different. How is this difficult? THEY ARE FUCKING PROMOTING AN UNSANCTIONED MATCH. You're not being clever and you have not "caught them messing up". It's simply what they're calling a no dq match. Understand? It's super obvious shit.
