retard here, how do I read the chart

Reminder that you'd have to nearly double the height of this graph for the Attitude era, and that the graph still wouldn't count the lost WCW fan in regards to the size of the industry as whole.

Under 1 million this year

FUCKING THIS

Seriously, it's been discussed to death but basically, WWE is a victim of their own success.

and it doesn't count population growth either

I honestly don't like any wrestling anymore, no idea why i come to Yea Forums still

And it doesn't count cable subscribers, which has been falling for years now.

The writing and acting is abysmal.

WWE wants to be a TV show yet they know fuck all about consistency.

I miss 2016 bros

Brock's reign of terror and never being there
He was on SD at the time ya pinhead

Remember when Eddie was a no-draw champion, he asked to drop the belt to JBL and he drew even less?
This is the same situation but worse because the current champions are the shits and the heels are decent but they can't make shitty midcard for life champions shine.
One thing is for sure: if their plan is to keep these jobbers as the champion until Summerslam they're in for a fucking rude awakening.

How is the wwe still on tv? It's pulling late night informercial ratings right now. How did vince convince fox to let him air smackdown and them pay him for the pleasure?

>three years ago
>RAW getting a 1.87 was considered terrible
>fast-forward to now
>RAW is consistently in the 1.6-1.8 range every week
>two weeks ago they equaled their lowest ever rating with a 1.5

how can 2018 end with a different position that 2019 starts with

wwe crashed so fucking hard immediately after Mania 17. The decline from 2001 to 2005 was insane, it's a miracle they didn't go out of business in the mid 2000s.

>roster too big
>roster sucks
>booking sucks
>booking the worst of the roster at the top of the card
>lifeless production
>no coherence to any of their storylines
>boring matches
>they’ve conditioned their fan base to become zombies that will somehow keep supporting them despite hating the product (paying for tickets to shitchant)
>the entirety of WWE is made up of midcarders, cruiserweights and women and the midcarders aren’t even any good

It's too bad they didn't go with their original idea of "maintaining" WCW as its own brand to keep the war going, at least for a while. Seems there were legal issues with attempting that though and they had no good plan B for that event.

You can thank Triple Nosehairs for squashing everyone the fans actually liked and singlehandedly making wrestling completely uncool in the mainstream.

When you give the marks what they want, there is no reason to continue tuning in. What do they have to look forward to but their favorite characters losing championships?

the thing I hate most about WWE is how it looks, the arenas are poorly shot, entrance ramps continually garbage, the lighting since they went to hd in 2008 or whenever that was has always sucked. it's not cosy to watch WWE for hours which is an important factor for any "sport". Norm McDonald once said that the reason why billions watch games on tv is because of how much people like looking at a green football, soccer pitch, baseball field. It's like having a desktop wallpaper on your television you enjoy

I know it's easy to pin this on management, and they should take a large portion of the blame, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the talent is actually worse than everyone realizes.

Dear user. I know you think you are smart. I know you think you know what you are talking about.
But no. Imagine these marks coming every week to MSG to see Bruno win. They got what they wanted. Over and over and over and over again. And they still came.
It's about stars and starpower. it's not about "giving them what they want".

>Another potential reason for the roster split was down to the ratings for RAW and SmackDown! taking a huge hit coming off the “Attitude Era”. According to Paul Heyman, who became the head writer of SmackDown! in 2002, SmackDown! was facing cancellation as the writing team was split up to serve both brands. Internally, all eyes were on RAW and Heyman’s job was to “take SmackDown! of their plate”. With the need to feature everybody and pressure on both WWE’s two flagship shows, the brand wars was on.

There were no legal issues, more like they didn't have the roster to do that and they were completely retarded.

Perhaps if Cunter was forced into retirement after his first quad injury in 01 then maybe Raw in the 2000s would have been better
