DBS has publicly gone on social media and taking jabs at the semen slurping Nu Japan style for a while now, as its clearly not his vision of what pro wrestling should is. It's for the best actually, he was wasted as a tag guy there for years and now hopefully we can see more of him on the indies.

Yano and DBS Jr had no chemistry and that match sucked. ROH is obviously shit and there's no way you'd want to perform in front of a half empty arena instead of japanese cuties. I don't know if I trust this though.

Bret was good. Owen was good. Teddy is fucking crazy and that makes him entertaining(Although im not a fan of the near animal abuse). DBS jr is actually bad. Like between the bells hes fine, but hes very, very bland, has no mic ability whatsoever and in the two full G1 tours he had he never got over at all.

I disagree. I think Nu Japan would have been more than fine with him wrestling like Bret; the problem is, as you said, he's bland. Also the way he does moves his bland as well. So robotically.

Yeah he doesnt play to his size a lot when he really should have in Japan. Like he wanted to be a pure shooter grappler but didnt think to just batter the shit out of people with chops.
It really doesnt seem that hard to get over as a big guy in Japan. Just do the no sell shoulder blocks and big, loud chops. He just didnt have the innate charisma of a guy like Ishii, Kitamura, Makabe, Goto or Evil. A lot of what they seem to react to is perceived effort. Its why even a relative shitter like Henare can actually get some crowd heat with his comeback spots, where I cant remember any significant response to any of his singles stuff outside of the Ishii match or the two Tana G1 matches.
