Lets take a look at where the CWC participants are now

Lets take a look at where the CWC participants are now
>TJ Perkins: Moved down the card within a few months, released this year in an era where WWE doesn't release anyone, now back at Impact
>Gran Metalik: Almost never appeared on raw or 205 live until the lucha house party gimmick started, which he is now the tertiary member of on raw
>Kota Ibushi: Appeared on a few NXTs but nothing more, now one of the top stars in NJPW
>Zack Sabre Jr: Made no more WWE appearances after losing in the semifinal, now a top gaijin in NJPW
>Rich Swann: Got the cw title briefly, and afterwards was one of the few cruiserweights actually wrestling regularly on raw with a storyline. Got released due to domestic violence charges, now at impact
>Brian Kendrick: Had a brief title run, hasn't been in the title picture since but is regularly featured on 205 live
>Noam Dar: Was the other half of the Rich Swann Alicia Fox storyline, mostly a comedy figure on 205 live, now a bit player in nxt uk
>Akira Tozawa: Had a very brief title run in the Neville era. Constantly in the title picture for 205 live, and got a shot at the NA title
>Lince Dorado: Only barely above Metalik on 205 Live/Raw before Lucha House Party, only got one throwaway title shot
>Johnny Gargano: Became the top guy in NXT, main eventing 7 takeovers, and holding all 3 male titles
>Cedric Alexander: Always a top guy on 205 Live, getting a long run with the title when HHH took over. Now on raw chasing after R-Truth
>Tony Nese: Mostly a comedy character on 205 live, but is now holding the title as the division is even deader than before
>Ho Ho Lun: Became an NXT jobber before requesting release, now just works asian indies
>Drew Gulak: Given a lot of TV time on 205 Live but mostly as a comedy figure, now getting a more serious run in NXT
>Tajiri: did a little 205 live and nxt stuff, but WWE decided he was too old and released him, now making sporadic AJPW

>Jack Gallagher: Upper-Midcard on 205 Live, getting a brief title run and a constant TV focus. Potentially fighting for Bellator.
>Jason Lee: Never appeared after first match. Now a midcarder in Dragon Gate.
>Mustafa Ali: Got increasing 205 live push as time went on, though no title run. Now getting a decent push on Smackdown. Ironically wasnt an original part of the tournament, got in as an alternate for some BR with visa issues.
>Tommaso Ciampa: Became NXT's top heel, but is currently out on injury.
>Da Mack: Did nothing after his first round match, wrestles regularly for wXw
>Clement Petoit: Did nothing after first round, roams the indies now as Tristan Archer
>Sean Maluta: Jobs occasionally for NXT and 205 Live while working indies. Put over Manny.
>Anthony Bennett: Did nothing after first round, appears regularly for CZW
>Raul Mendoza: Just an NXT jobber, no 205 live appearances
>Ariya Daivari: Barely midcard heel jobber for most of his time on 205 Live, got a title shot out of nowhere and put on the worst CW title match on a ppv in forever
>Gurv Sihra: Now Sunil Singh of the Singh brothers, got to take a brutal german from Brock after being Jinder's lackeys for his title run (doing only a few jobs on 205 live before that). Not even a part of Jinder's 24/7 shit
>Tyson Dux: No appearances after his first round loss, but did guest coach at the PC. Tours the indies and made a few Impact appearances.
>Harv Sirah: Samir Singh of the Singh brothers, same story as above
>Alezandro Saez: Didnt appear after his first round loss, but did take part in a Latin america wwe tryout in 2018. Works latam indies.
>Damian Slater: Did not appear for WWE after his first round loss, mostly does Australian indies, but did appear on NJPW's Australia tour
>Fabian Aichner: Did a few NXT appearances before briefly winning the Evolve title, moving to nxt UK as a tag team after losing it
>Kenneth Johnson: Made one 205 live appearance as a jobber, has had literally no other matches.

Swell work user, intriguing stats now that it has been sometime since the CWC; I am actually glad there was only 1, makes it special. As far as the breakout stars, obviously DIY, however, I am still have hope they will do something with Cedric Alexander

Fuck this was a good tournament
>Gargano and Ciampa had their best match together
>Cedric Alexander killed it and got "please sign Cedric" chants
>fucking KOTA IBUSHI

And I had hopes for the new cruiserweights :/
