If he wanted the money and the hall of fame, he could have asked for a Legends deal, I can't see him getting paid that well for two matches. The company respected (and still respects) his legacy in WCW, but once he stepped into the ring he needed to take more precautions in how he was going to get booked

well one prime Booker wasn't Sting at his twilight and two, I think many were hoping that he wouldn't sink that low
You just reminded me that in the build up to the Sting match he had a promo off with Booker, Booker called Sting a straight up guy and said maybe he didnt come to WWE for a reason all those years back and then Cunter fires him. As Booker pathetically gathers his things and starts walking to the back Cunter tells him hes reinstated, hes a valuable guy to the announce team but Triple H runs things around here and you best not forget it. Basically he buried Booker again, years after retirement.

Yea but Booker going over at that point made the most sense and he was over. If he would bury a prime story line he's going to bury a match that is basically there to showcase himself. The minute sting wasnt put in a match with just someone other than Hunter it became Huntews Wrestlemania showcase match and nothing else
