Is Cornette's hatred for modern wrestling a work?

He states regarding his wrestling memorabilia and footage collection:

"If it's happened in professional wrestling since the pioneer days, since the days of the Great Depression, I have documentation of it here in this room."

So taking the above into consideration, taking Cornette's career, his age, the people he has worked with, the way his vitriol towards people like Kenny Omega and the Bucks has increased their popularity: do you really think he hates modern wrestling so much?

Because to me you'd think a guy who has been so many places, seen so much, and read and watched so much of wrestling history would have broader perspective about the genre. One where he could see and appreciate it from a more abstract perspective. To take the long view of things and understand that wrestling has gone through various ages and evolutions, and will continue to go through them.

I think I'm about 90% sure that 90% of his "hatred" for modern wrestling is exaggerated or a work. The remaining 10% being disappointment that a lot of modern wrestling really is lackluster. And hating Vince Russo. That part is definitely real.

I don't know where his hate for the Bucks and Omega stemmed from, but I'm guessing that they didn't kiss his ass so he lashed out at them

>muh perspectives
what a fucking meme, please stop sniffing your own farts.

I unironically always assumed it was a work up until a few days ago when Joey Ryan was trying to get him shoot fired. Guess they really do all hate each other.

>stop using big word hard for grug to understand

Based retard

Well done, OP. The greatest bait I've seen in years. You should be a Yea Forums admin, you'd fit right in with that "we didn't change you did" attitude.

Its a collusion with all companies to keep him relevant bro

That collection is based and cringe at the same time.

It's the same thing with Melzer. He gives all his sycophants the benefit of the doubt but he constantly takes shots at people who never fed him info.
The old saying is "if you can't do, teach." It really should be "if you can't do, write about it behind a keyboard"

He's a retarded southerner. A democratic southerner at that. His anger is a gimmick at this point but it's still real. He's smart but he's dumb. Like for years he had acid reflux problems caused by drinking 10 cans of sprite per day. So his solution was...to drink more sprite. I cant stand him these days but he has his moments.

I did once get drunk and order a bunch of dvds off his website, and he threw in a bunch of extra merch with the order for free. That was cool of him.

He loved what wrestling once was, and what it once was doesn't exist anymore. If someone loved Alfred Hitchcock it doesn't mean they have to appreciate Marvel shit for what it is. If someone loved The Rolling Stones they don't have to appreciate whatever the fk is popular now. If someone loved Final Fantasy 1-10 they don't have to appreciate 13 and 15.
You would guess wrong, it has been explained to death and there is no particular hate specifically for them, he hates that stuff in general but is mostly asked about them because they are the biggest names in modern Winking to the Crowd wrestling.

Ryan might be outside the worked part. Sometimes I've wondered if Corny isn't a secret member of the BTE crew. Where he has spent years "criticizing" Kenny Omega but basically putting him over, over and over. Because he seems to jump at any opportunity to talk about him at length.

The Omega hatred stems back to ROH. He's permanently on Corny's shitlist for no-showing Final Battle to work in Japan when he told him he was injured.
Not sure about the Bucks other than the obvious exposing the business shit.

>He's a retarded southerner. A democratic southerner at that
He's from Louisville KY, he is not a southerner.

t. Kentuckian

But he knows the wrestling he loved didn't exist for more than about 20 years or so out of a century of wrestling history.

On top of that all the stuff he did with the Rock N' Roll express was very similar to the kind of wrestling that has become popular on the indies in the last 10 years (very fast and athletic).

Ya ok

You sure he's still mad about that? Sure it's not a work?

Louisville is way more like Indianapolis than it is like Nashville. Not trying to meme ya. It's just not a southern city by any stretch.

Im from canada my friend. Comparing yourself to Indy isnt doing you any favors.

I was just memeing tho southerners are good people. I like cornette and am watching the dvds i bought from him right now.

He's a shitlord boomer that is obsessed with wrestling when it was low IQ liner good ole boy Southern wrasslin garbage

worked shoot. he thinks modern wrestling sucks but it doesn't occupy his headspace as much as Trump.

>thinking wrestling has progressed past its redneck misfit carnie show roots.
you got worked, nerd

If you honestly think the current state of wrestling in the past decade is in any way acceptable then you have a mental illness and should be in prison.
