i remember seeing Ivan Koloff (he was old as fuck, wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants, and somewhat immobile) vs some fat indy guy in NC during the late 90s (97-98 if I had to guess). For some reason I thought it would be gimmicked but if such a thing existed this fed would not be able to afford it. Ivan was busted open slightly on his scar tissue (probably didn't even blade), indy boy gigged something fierce and looked like Dustin at Double or Nothing for a Great Value hotdog. That's the passion missing today.
Also, not memeing but Ivan was based as fuck. Met him once before that, and once after. He remembered me the third time. Nice guy, F.

For those that missed it. We didnt get a look at the landing but he ran the ropes(barbed wire ropes) and the middle one gave out and he ended up falling backwards. Commentators said he may have fucked the back of his head up I think.

Finals were G-Raver vs Alex Colon. Right when the match started G-Raver had to hit the barbwire ropes and they couldn't support his weight so he fell to floor and hit the back of his head, knocking him out. Shlak, who had not been on the show and was only there for the afterparty, and Jimmy Lloyd, who was eliminated by G-Raver, came to the ring and started fighting with Colon. I guess it became an impromptu three way to determine the tournament winner. Colon pinned Lloyd on a table for the win. G-Raver is still alive but probably heavily concussed.
