I don't care if NJPW isn't as popular, they have the best wrestlers and matches in the world and that's what I and most of their fans care about most. And AEW is terrible in comparison to NJPW even if theyre better than WWE, just compare the Kenny/Jericho matches from each promotion.
I like the current master and bitch relationship with ROH despite hating to watch any of their shitters shitting it up on NJPW ring (see BOSJ 26) but I can’t rule out NJPW ditching them for AEW and that might be even more of an annoyance. One might see a huge opportunity with a partnership with AEW, much like the WCW from decades ago, but most of AEW’s roster are shitters much like ROH plus AEW would definitely refuse to be the bitch in this relationship.
It would be great if NJPW gives up on the American territory and stop partnering with American promotions altogether.
