Yo bro I know that I just beat the shit out of you and you probably need a blood transfusion, but listen to my promo a bit. I need you to be my tag team partner against my buddies whom I'm gonna beat the shit out of in fake fighting next month because ???
Why is Cody fighting the Young Bucks? What is storytelling? What is writing? This is just fantasy booking manager for no goddamn reason.
Why did they even have the match? It made little sense.
Then the match itself - it just had way too much blood. They got sloppy by the end, the finish was shit. Why did Brandi humiliate herself too?

>I want you to be my partner >deep storyline
Jaxson Martin
>wins and losses don’t matter oh great

>Why is Cody fighting the Young Bucks? Why does anybody on an MMA or Boxing card fight anyone else? Not every match needs some kind of separate reason to happen. Storyline reason is simple: it's a sports-oriented promotion, real fighting promotions book matches that will draw money, people will pay money to see Rhodeses vs Bucks, ergo the match is booked.

If you've ever been in a fight with someone you're close with (even vague friends for a short amount of time) you would get it. After getting into a fistfight with someone you feel a bond with them.
Kayden Cox
In boxing everyone had a reason, to be no 1 contender, to get the strap etc.
Cody was holding hands with the Young bucks at the start of the show, and gave off air promo with the Young bucks at the end of the show. Within kayfabe it made no sense that they're gonna fight each other for no title. I'm sure they're gonna release a bunch of youtube clips to build up the fight but it made it even more fake. You might as well turn the whole thing into UFC or other sports, have people shakle hand and hug everytime in the beginning and end of the match

>WWE has shit writing "Wow, how would anyone believe this? Why do they have such a massive writing staff if this bullshit is all that we get? Nothing makes sense."
>AEW has shit writing "Heh, guess what. ACTUALLY, wrestling doesn't NEED to make sense or tell a story. It's sports, kid. Look at boxing or MMA!"
Juan Williams
>do some weird dancing shit when nip nops book you to fight each other >instantly book yourselves against each other in your own promotion
James Harris
if all in 2 was put on by the E everyone would admit how shit it was

>In boxing everyone had a reason Not in the midcards they don't. Boxing, UFC, and other MMA cards have undercard matchups between people fighting for no other reason than to add to their respective records all the time. This is most common on events other than major PPVs (i.e. UFC Fight Night or UFC on ESPN). The next two AEW PPVs are not major events, thus you can liken this match to a boxing or mma undercard where the two fighter are merely trying to add to their win columns and show their stuff in front of a crowd. If wins and losses matter, it makes sense for everybody to want to add to those records.
There are important non-kayfabe reasons for this as well. Meltzer talked about how much work all the EVP guys had to do behind the scenes in addition to having to wrestle. This will only get worse when weekly TV happens. The Elite are the top draws right now, like it or not, and AEW has a lot of new eyeballs on it right now. It makes sense to use these smaller events to build up Cody and the Bucks as top guys. When they get to TV, they can use that status to put other talents over and get themselves off having to wrestle every single week so they can focus on backstage stuff.

dustin has to take the pin I mean the rest are all elite

>Low blows Dustin >has his wife interfere >bloodies him beyond belief >wins the match with an exposed buckle >cuts a pandering face promo afterward
